JD Mechanical / Structural Designer / Drafter

Job Summary
Support Engineers and Engineering Managers in preparing mechanical, piping, and structural drawings and BOMs as per customer requirements.
Independently prepare and check designs, drawings, BOMs, and MTOs.
Resolve engineering issues through drawing/design simulation and technical analysis.
Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, quality requirements, safety standards, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and check Mechanical, Piping & Structural drawings and BOMs.
Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take-Offs) and detailed BOMs independently.
Develop GA/layout drawings, piping isometrics, piping schedules, tie-point/interface drawings, structural drawings, equipment supports, pipe supports, and foundation details.
Prepare drawings for HVAC ducting, handrails, ladders, walkways, stairs, platforms and gratings.
Prepare weight/COG reports, valve lists, flow diagrams and P&IDs;.
Prepare FAT sequence drawings/procedures and installation procedures.




Review vendor drawings/data for compliance with customer specifications and applicable standards.
Support problem-solving through drawing/design simulation.
Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, vendors and third-party design firms.
Provide design information from 3D models and maintain engineering documentation.

2D & 3D CAD / BIM
SolidWorks
AutoCAD
Navisworks
Revit / BIM 360 – working knowledge
SAP – working knowledge
BOM & MTO preparation
GA/Layout drawings and detailed engineering drawings
Knowledge of relevant ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, OSHA, NFPA, ASHRAE and other industry standards
Experience in Hyperscale / High-Density Data Center Modules is strongly preferred.
Solid problem-solving, analytical, communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.

Education
Technical certification in Mechanical / Piping / Structural Design or related discipline.
5–10 years of relevant design experience, preferably in Data Centers or a similar engineering setting.
