Roles & Responsibilities:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring process quality control, defect prevention, and continuous improvement across SMT, Through Hole (THC) Assembly, and Conformal Coating processes.
The role ensures compliance with process parameters, inspection standards, and quality systems to achieve reliable manufacturing processes and high product reliability in accordance with IPC-A-610 and internal quality procedures.
Process Quality Control:
Approve First-Off PCB (SMT) and PCBA (THC Assembly) before start of mass production and during product changeovers.
Monitor solder paste printing parameters, including:
Stencil condition
Solder paste shelf life and usage time
Paste thickness and print quality.
Verify Reflow and Wave Soldering profiles, including:
Temperature profile validation
Oven temperature monitoring and recording.
Monitor manual component insertion quality and component orientation during THC Assembly in-process inspections.
Review SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) results and ensure closure of identified defects.
Ensure Golden Master Sample verification compliance at:
AOI inspection station
End-of-Line (EOL) testing area.
Verify critical assembly parameters at THC Assembly including:
Component polarity
Lead clinching quality
Solder fill percentage
Solder bridges or short circuits
before offering the product to functional testing.
Monitor conformal coating thickness, uniformity, and coverage as per product specifications.
Ensure calibrated instruments and equipment are used across process, assembly, and testing areas.
