Role Overview
The PYP Homeroom Teacher is responsible for the planning, implementation, and assessment of a concept-driven, inquiry-based programme aligned with the IB PYP framework. The role requires a solid commitment to transdisciplinary learning, the development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, and fostering student agency within a team-oriented learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Pedagogy
Design and deliver high-quality, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework
Plan and implement transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry that promote conceptual understanding
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and integrate them effectively into teaching and learning
Develop creative and engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learners
Foster student agency by enabling voice, choice, and ownership of learning
Ensure alignment with IB standards and practices in all aspects of teaching
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
IB PYP Category 1 training (preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IB PYP school (mandatory)
Solid understanding of concept-based, inquiry-driven pedagogy
Experience with Toddle or similar planning and documentation platforms (preferred)
Experience in using emerging AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar
