Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase professional to manage Direct and Indirect Procurement for a leading pharmaceutical formulations company in Hyderabad. The candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of materials and services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Procurement

- Manage procurement of APIs, excipients, raw materials, and packaging materials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with approved suppliers.
- Identify current vendors and conduct vendor evaluation and development.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, MOQ, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely availability of materials as per production and planning requirements.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, R&D;, Production, and Supply Chain teams.
- Monitor material quality, lead times, and supplier performance.

2. Indirect Procurement

- Handle procurement of engineering spares, electrical items, consumables, and maintenance materials.
- Manage purchase of laboratory chemicals, office supplies, IT equipment, and facility-related services.




- Coordinate procurement for plant utilities, civil works, and other operational requirements.
- Ensure competitive quotations, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Manage purchase orders, vendor contracts, and payment coordination.

3. Procurement Operations & Compliance

- Review purchase requisitions and ensure timely PO generation.
- Maintain procurement records and vendor databases in SAP/ERP.
- Prepare comparative statements and conduct commercial negotiations.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and inventory optimization.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and pharmaceutical quality requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports related to procurement, savings, vendor performance, and pending orders.

Candidate Profile

- Qualification: Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Supply Chain / Procurement preferred.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably in pharmaceutical formulations.
- Experience in both direct and indirect procurement is essential.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, excipients, packaging materials, and engineering procurement.
- Experience in vendor development, negotiation, and cost reduction.
- Proficiency in SAP/ERP and MS Excel.
- Strong communication, analytical, and team-management skills.
