A Production Engineer in the automotive component (auto comp) industry optimizes daily assembly-line workflows, resolves shop-floor bottlenecks, and meets strict vehicle manufacturer (OEM) production targets.
Core Responsibilities
· Production Operations: Execute daily and shift-wise production schedules, manage line output, and minimize work-in-progress (WIP) inventory.
· Process Optimization: Analyze cycle times, balance assembly lines, and apply lean manufacturing or 5S principles to reduce waste.
· Quality Assurance: Monitor defect rates, track First Pass Yield (FPY), and lead root-cause analysis (such as 5-Why or Fishbone tools) for production rejections.
· Equipment Maintenance: Supervise machine uptime, track Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and troubleshoot mechanical or automation faults.
· Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with quality control, maintenance, tooling, and supply chain teams for smooth part flow.
Key Requirements
· Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering.
· Experience: 3 to 4 years of shop-floor experience in a high-volume automotive component manufacturing setting (machining, stamping, or plastic molding).
· Technical Skills: Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, GD&T;, and shop-floor automation (PLCs or basic robotics).
· Soft Skills: Shift team management, structured problem-solving, and safety compliance.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
