Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Textile Merchandiser to manage fabric development and production from yarn/fabric planning through weaving, dyeing, printing, finishing and final delivery.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of woven textiles, fabric construction, yarn counts, fabric costing, processing and vendor coordination. The role requires close coordination with our design, production, quality and sourcing teams, as well as mills, weaving units, dye houses, printers and other processing partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage textile development and production from enquiry/development stage through bulk delivery.
- Coordinate yarn sourcing, weaving/knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing and fabric inspection.
- Understand and work with fabric specifications including:
- Yarn count
- GSM
- EPI/PPI
- Reed/pick
- Fabric width
- Construction
- Shrinkage
- Consumption
- Prepare and maintain fabric development and production trackers.
- Follow up on lab dips, strike-offs, handlooms, sample yardages and bulk approvals.
- Coordinate with mills, weavers, dye houses, printers and finishing units.
- Monitor fabric quality including shade, shrinkage, bowing/skewing, defects and dimensional stability.
- Understand fabric inspection systems and coordinate corrective action with vendors.




- Plan fabric requirements based on garment orders and expected process losses.
- Prepare and review fabric costings.
- Track fabric movement between vendors and maintain accurate delivery/documentation records.
- Ensure fabric development and bulk production meet required quality and delivery timelines.
- Work closely with garment merchandising and production teams to ensure fabric readiness.
- Support traceability documentation from yarn/fibre through finished fabric.
- Identify risks early and provide practical solutions to prevent delays.

Candidate Requirements

- Diploma / Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology or related field preferred.
- 6–8 years of experience in textile/fabric merchandising.
- Solid experience in woven fabrics is essential.
- Knowledge of knits would be an advantage.
- Good understanding of fabric development, processing and quality.
- Strong fabric costing knowledge.
- Good Excel skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong follow-up, documentation and vendor-management skills.
- Comfortable travelling to mills, weaving units and processing vendors when required.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple developments simultaneously.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
