We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead workforce and labor management across our concurrent MEP electrical contracting project sites and our manufacturing unit. This role is central to ensuring the right manpower is deployed at the right site at the right time, that our labor practices are fully statutory-compliant, and that site-level HR issues (attendance, contractor labor, grievances, welfare) are handled proactively — not reactively. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing a large contract/skilled labor workforce in a construction, EPC, or infrastructure environment, not just corporate HR.

Key ResponsibilitiesManpower Planning & Site Deployment

- Plan and coordinate manpower requirements (engineers, supervisors, skilled electricians, technicians, and unskilled/contract labor) across multiple concurrent project sites in Tamil Nadu.
- Track workforce utilization site-wise and reallocate manpower based on project timelines and urgency.
- Coordinate mobilization/demobilization of site labor in line with project schedules.

Labor Law & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, EPF & ESI regulations, and the Factories Act (for the manufacturing unit).
- Maintain and renew labor licenses, registrations, and statutory returns for all project sites.
- Liaise with the Labour Department, PF/ESI offices, and factory inspectors as required.
- Maintain audit-ready statutory documentation across all active sites.

Contract Labor & Contractor Management

- Manage relationships with labor contractors/subcontractors,

including verification of their labor licenses and compliance status.
- Oversee contract labor onboarding, attendance verification, and wage disbursement compliance.
- Resolve disputes between contract labor and contractors/site management.

Site HR Administration

- Set up and manage site-level HR processes: attendance tracking, biometric/muster rolls, leave management.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and project managers on daily labor deployment and issues.
- Oversee labor welfare facilities at sites (safety gear, drinking water, sanitation, rest areas) in coordination with EHS/site teams.

Recruitment & Onboarding

- Recruit skilled and semi-skilled workforce (electricians, wiremen, technicians) as well as site supervisory and engineering staff.
- Conduct induction and safety orientation for new site joiners.

Industrial & Employee Relations

- Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution at site level.
- Maintain harmonious labor relations to avoid work stoppages or disputes affecting project timelines.

Payroll & HR Systems

- Coordinate with accounts/payroll for accurate wage processing of direct and contract labor.
- Maintain digital employee/labor records (HRMS, attendance systems).
- Prepare periodic manpower and compliance MIS reports for management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- MBA/PGDM in HR Management or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- 8–12 years of overall HR experience, with a significant portion in construction, EPC, MEP contracting, or infrastructure projects — not purely corporate/office HR.
- Demonstrated experience managing large contract labor workforces (100+ workers) across multiple, geographically spread project sites.
- Solid working knowledge of labor laws applicable to the construction industry (Contract Labour Act, BOCW Act, Minimum Wages, ESI, PF, Payment of Wages Act).
- Experience liaising with government labor authorities and handling statutory audits/inspections.

Skills & Attributes

- Strong grasp of labor law and statutory compliance specific to construction/EPC.
- Manpower planning and deployment across multiple concurrent sites.
- Vendor/labor contractor negotiation and management.
- Proficiency in HRMS/payroll tools and MS Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills; comfortable dealing directly with site labor, contractors, and supervisors.
- Fluency in Tamil and English (mandatory); Hindi is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across Tamil Nadu.
- High ownership and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

What We Offer

- Opportunity to build and lead the HR/labor management function for a growing MEP electrical contracting and manufacturing company.
- Direct exposure to project leadership and site operations.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

Benefits:

- Food provided

Work Location: In person
