STAFF NURSE

Department: Nursing

Reports To: Nursing In-Charge / Nursing Manager / Nursing Superintendent

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, skilled, and responsible Staff Nurse to join our Nursing Department. The Staff Nurse will be responsible for providing safe and quality patient care, administering medications and treatments, maintaining accurate nursing documentation, and coordinating effectively with doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide direct nursing care to patients according to their individual needs and hospital protocols.
- Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, clinical condition, and response to treatment.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed by doctors.
- Assist doctors during procedures, examinations, and emergency situations.
- Maintain proper nursing notes, patient records, medication charts, and other required documentation.
- Monitor and report any changes in the patient's condition promptly to the concerned doctor and nursing in-charge.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices, including proper hand hygiene and biomedical waste management.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of nursing equipment and supplies.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
- Provide appropriate patient and bystander education regarding treatment, medication, diet, and follow-up care.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safety at all times.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing protocols, NABH standards,



and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments for smooth patient care.
- Participate in shift handovers and ensure accurate communication of patient information.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow hospital emergency protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and a skilled environment within the assigned clinical area.
- Perform any other nursing-related duties assigned by the Nursing In-Charge / Nursing Manager / Management.

Qualification

- GNM or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council (KNMC) is required.

Experience

- Minimum 1 year
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting will be an advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good clinical and patient-care skills.
- Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and medication administration.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Patient-friendly and compassionate approach.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
