1. Job Purpose
The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, and coordinating all civil construction activities at the project site. The role involves ensuring that construction work is executed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, project schedules, and client requirements.
The candidate will coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, surveyors, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned civil works.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and method statements.
- Monitor construction activities including excavation, foundation, PCC, RCC, reinforcement, shuttering, masonry, grouting, road work, drainage, and other associated civil works.
- Ensure proper setting-out, alignment, levels, dimensions, and elevations as per approved drawings.
- Coordinate with surveyors for layout, levels, coordinates, and measurements.
- Monitor contractor manpower, machinery, materials, and daily work progress.
- Ensure activities are completed within the planned project schedule.
B. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret civil, structural, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate with the design/engineering team regarding drawing discrepancies and site-related technical issues.
- Ensure the latest approved drawings are being followed at site.
- Identify site constraints and communicate them to the Project Manager.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing method statements and work procedures.
C. Quality Control
- Ensure civil works comply with approved quality standards and project specifications.
- Inspect incoming construction materials and ensure proper storage at site.
- Monitor concrete pouring,
reinforcement, shuttering, curing, and other critical activities.
- Coordinate concrete cube testing and other required material/testing procedures.
- Maintain quality inspection records and checklists.
- Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure proper workmanship and finishing standards.
D. Quantity & Measurement
- Verify measurements of completed work executed by contractors.
- Check quantities against BOQ and approved drawings.
- Assist in preparation and verification of RA Bills, work completion reports, and measurement sheets.
- Maintain daily records of executed quantities.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage at site.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing cost and quantity reports.
E. Project Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare and maintain daily and weekly progress reports.
- Track actual progress against the project schedule.
- Identify delays, constraints, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors to achieve planned targets.
- Participate in site review meetings and provide updates on civil work progress.
- Support project planning and resource allocation.
F. Contractor & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with civil contractors and subcontractors for execution of works.
- Monitor contractor performance, manpower deployment, and productivity.
- Communicate work priorities and daily targets to contractors.
- Resolve routine site execution issues in coordination with senior management.
- Coordinate with vendors for material availability and delivery at site.
G. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all civil activities are carried out in accordance with company EHS policies and project safety requirements.
- Coordinate with the Safety/EHS team for protected execution of civil works.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and follow approved safety procedures.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near-miss cases.
- Ensure proper barricading, excavation safety, work-at-height safety, and housekeeping at site.
H. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and update:
- Daily Progress Reports (DPR)
- Site measurement sheets
- Work completion reports
- Material inspection reports
- Quality checklists
- Concrete pour records
- Test reports
- Site photographs
- Contractor work records
- Drawing registers
- Site instructions
- NCR and corrective action records
- Other project-related civil documentation
3. Renewable Energy / Power Project Responsibilities
For renewable energy and transmission-line-related projects, the candidate may also be responsible for monitoring:
- Solar/Wind project civil infrastructure works.
- Equipment foundation and associated civil works.
- Transmission line foundation works.
- Tower foundation excavation and concreting.
- Road and approach-road development.
- Drainage and culvert works.
- Substation-related civil works.
- Cable trench and utility infrastructure.
- Equipment foundations and fencing.
- Site development and leveling works.
- Restoration and finishing works.
4. Education Qualification
Essential:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
Preferred:
- Candidates having experience in renewable energy, transmission line, power, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
