Job Description: Clinical Nutritionist

Location : Bangalore, On Site, Full time

Required skills:

Minimum 2 years' clinical/nutrition counseling experience

Must be genuinely familiar with plant-based nutrition; must be willing to actively learn functional nutrition — not required to already know it

Role Overview

The Clinical Nutritionist works directly with CLP’s on-site and virtual clients across gut health, metabolic health, and autoimmune reversal programs.

This is a patient-facing clinical role, not a back-office position. The person in this role works closely with clients who may be anxious, frustrated, or have already tried multiple approaches without success. The ability to listen, build trust, translate science into practical nutrition strategies, and create plans that clients can realistically follow is central to the role.

The Clinical Nutritionist will work as part of an integrated care team alongside doctors, nutrition coaches, and physiotherapists, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, personalized, and outcome-driven nutrition care.

Key Responsibilities - Clinical Nutrition

- Develop, implement, and regularly review personalized nutrition plans for on-site and virtual clients.
- Build nutrition plans with a strong grounding in plant-based nutrition, while adapting recommendations to each client’s health goals, preferences, lifestyle, and level of adherence.
- Develop and continuously strengthen knowledge in functional nutrition. Active learning and professional development are an essential requirement of this role.
- Review relevant laboratory investigations and health markers in coordination with the treating doctor and HOD — Nutrition.
- Identify findings that fall outside the nutritionist’s scope of practice and appropriately escalate them to the clinical team.
- Monitor client adherence, symptoms, progress, and outcomes.




- Modify nutrition plans based on the client’s real-world response and measurable progress rather than relying solely on theoretical recommendations.
- Help clients understand the rationale behind their nutrition plan and support them in making sustainable behavioral changes.

Client Experience & Communication

- Build strong therapeutic relationships with clients, particularly those who may feel overwhelmed, skeptical, or discouraged by previous healthcare experiences.
- Communicate complex nutrition and health concepts in a clear, empathetic, and practical manner.
- Meet clients where they are and create realistic strategies that improve long-term adherence.
- Provide ongoing guidance, accountability, and encouragement throughout the client journey.
- Maintain a professional, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach in all client interactions.

Team & Reporting

- Report to the HOD — Nutrition.
- Collaborate closely with doctors, nutrition coaches, physiotherapists, and other members of the clinical team as part of an integrated care model.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, nutrition plans, follow-ups, and relevant clinical observations in accordance with CLP’s documentation standards.
- Communicate client progress, challenges, and concerns effectively with the wider clinical team.

Learning & Development

- Successfully complete CLP’s internal Functional Nutrition course during the 3-month probation period.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and applying functional nutrition principles in clinical practice.
