Role Overview
The Trainer – Solar PV Installation & Maintenance will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical training to candidates enrolled in the skill development program. The role will focus on developing practical competencies in Solar PV Installation & Maintenance through classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, practical exercises and assessments, in alignment with the relevant Qualification Pack (QP) and Sector Skill Council (SSC) standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Training & Delivery
● Deliver classroom and practical training on Solar PV Installation & Maintenance as per the prescribed curriculum and Qualification Pack (QP).
● Conduct hands-on demonstrations covering solar PV system installation, mounting, wiring, commissioning, testing and maintenance.
● Demonstrate installation and maintenance of solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, cables, connectors and other associated components.
● Train candidates on electrical connections, system configuration, testing, fault identification and basic troubleshooting.
● Ensure effective utilization of training equipment, tools and practical lab facilities.
Practical Training & Assessment
● Conduct practical sessions and demonstrations to develop job-ready technical skills among trainees.
● Design and conduct practical exercises, assignments and skill assessments.
● Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
● Identify learning gaps and provide additional technical support to trainees.
● Ensure trainees achieve the required competency levels as per the applicable QP and assessment standards.
Safety & Compliance
● Ensure strict adherence to electrical and workplace safety standards during practical training.
● Train candidates on appropriate use of PPE, tools and equipment.
● Ensure safe handling, installation and maintenance of solar PV and electrical components.
● Maintain proper usage and upkeep of training equipment and infrastructure.
Trainee Management & Documentation
● Monitor trainee attendance, participation, discipline and learning progress.
● Maintain training records, assessment records and other required documentation.
● Prepare lesson plans, practical training schedules and learning materials.
● Provide regular updates on trainee performance and training progress to the project team.
● Support project-level activities, assessments, industry exposure visits and other program requirements.
Coordination & Program Support
● Coordinate with the Centre/Project team for training schedules, equipment requirements and trainee-related matters.
● Support placement-oriented activities by developing industry-relevant technical competencies among trainees.
● Participate in workshops, assessments,
events and other activities organized under the project.
● Undertake other responsibilities related to technical training and project implementation as assigned.
Education & Certification
● ITI / Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Solar, Renewable Energy, Electronics or a relevant technical discipline, as applicable to the respective Qualification Pack.
● Candidate must possess a valid Trainer of Trainers (ToT) certification from the relevant Sector Skill Council (SSC), wherever applicable to the respective QP.
Experience
● Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on industry experience in Solar PV Installation & Maintenance.
● Prior experience in vocational training, skill development or technical training will be preferred.
● Experience in solar EPC, renewable energy projects, solar installation and maintenance companies, ITIs, training centres or CSR/skill development programs will be an added advantage.

● Strong practical knowledge of Solar PV Installation & Maintenance.
● Ability to conduct effective hands-on demonstrations and practical training.
● Valuable understanding of solar PV systems, electrical connections, testing and troubleshooting.
● Strong knowledge of electrical and workplace safety practices.
● Effective classroom management and trainee engagement skills.
● Basic documentation and reporting skills.
● Ability to work effectively with trainees from diverse backgrounds.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
