Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Color Stone Grader to evaluate and grade colored gemstones based on colour, clarity, cut, carat weight, transparency, origin characteristics and overall quality, with the ability to identify natural, treated and enhanced stones.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and grade colored gemstones as per established quality standards.

Evaluate hue, tone, saturation, clarity, cut, polish, symmetry and transparency.

Identify gemstones including Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Amethyst, Topaz, Tourmaline, Garnet, Tanzanite & Aquamarine, etc.

Detect inclusions, fractures, treatments and other quality characteristics.

Identify signs of heat treatment, filling, dyeing, irradiation, diffusion and other enhancements.

Assess gemstones using appropriate lighting and magnification.

Sort and categorize stones based on quality, size,



colour and commercial value.

Maintain accurate grading records and documentation.

Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Purchase & Sales teams as required.

Ensure consistent grading as per company standards.

Handle gemstones carefully and follow proper security procedures.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of colored gemstones, grading and sorting.

Good visual observation and colour differentiation skills.

Knowledge of gemstone treatments, imitations and synthetics.

Familiarity with loupe, microscope, refractometer, polariscope, dichroscope and other basic gemological tools is an advantage.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to handle repetitive grading/sorting tasks efficiently.

Valuable communication and documentation skills.
