MrMed is a technology-driven specialty healthcare platform helping patients across India access critical and specialty medicines.

We operate at the intersection of Healthcare, Technology, E-commerce and Customer Experience, where technology directly impacts how quickly and reliably patients receive the medicines they need.

As we continue to scale, we are looking for a Chief Technology Officer who thinks beyond technology - someone who understands customers, business, products, numbers and execution.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional CTO role.

We are looking for a technology entrepreneur, builder and business owner at heart.

Someone who does not simply wait for a product requirement, assign it to a team and track delivery.

We want someone who can look at a business problem and say:

"I can build something to solve this."

You should have the mindset of someone who has built a product, launched an app, started something of your own, experimented with a business idea, or operated with strong founder-level ownership inside a startup.

You will own Technology and Product, work closely with the Founders, understand business priorities and convert opportunities into scalable products and technology solutions.

This role requires someone who is comfortable moving between:

Business → Customer → Product → Technology → Execution → Outcomes

You will not just build technology for the business.

You will help build the business through technology.

What You Will Own1. Product & Technology Strategy

- Own the overall Product and Technology roadmap in line with business goals.
- Understand customer problems and convert them into simple, scalable product solutions.
- Work closely with the Founders to identify opportunities where technology can improve revenue, customer experience, efficiency and scalability.
- Balance speed, quality, cost and long-term technology decisions.
- Build products that solve real customer and business problems, not technology for the sake of technology.

2. Build Like an Entrepreneur

We are particularly looking for someone with a builder's mindset.

You should:

- Have built an app, product, platform, startup or technology solution from scratch.
- Be comfortable taking an idea from 0 → 1.
- Enjoy experimenting, testing, failing fast and improving quickly.
- Think about business outcomes, not just technical output.
- Be comfortable working with incomplete information and taking decisions.
- Identify problems without waiting for someone to tell you what to solve.
- Take complete ownership from idea to execution to outcome.
- Understand that sometimes the best solution is not the most complicated technology.

If you have tried building your own startup, app, SaaS product, marketplace or consumer product, we would especially like to hear about it.

3. Business & Commercial Thinking

Technology at MrMed is expected to create measurable business value.

You will:

- Understand revenue, customer acquisition, retention, conversion, margins and operational efficiency.
- Work with the Founders to identify technology-led growth opportunities.
- Partner with Business, Operations, Marketing, Customer Support,



Finance and other teams.
- Evaluate build vs buy decisions from both technology and business perspectives.
- Use data to make product and technology decisions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Think about technology investment in terms of business impact and ROI.

4. Engineering Leadership

- Lead the overall engineering organisation across Backend, Frontend, Mobile, QA, DevOps, Cloud, Security and Infrastructure.
- Define scalable architecture and engineering standards.
- Ensure technology systems are secure, reliable and scalable.
- Establish strong engineering practices, coding standards, testing and deployment processes.
- Improve engineering productivity and delivery predictability.
- Build systems that can support MrMed's next stage of growth.

5. AI & Innovation

AI will be an important part of our technology journey.

You will:

- Identify practical use cases for Generative AI, LLMs and AI Agents.
- Explore how AI can improve customer experience, operations, product development and engineering productivity.
- Build and test AI-led products rather than simply following technology trends.
- Encourage experimentation while maintaining business discipline.
- Help MrMed identify where AI can create a genuine competitive advantage.

6. People & Leadership

You will build and lead a high-performing technology organisation.

This includes:

- Hiring strong engineering and product talent.
- Building future technology leaders.
- Setting clear expectations and accountability.
- Creating a culture of ownership and problem-solving.
- Coaching managers and senior engineers.
- Developing strong technical and product capabilities within the team.
- Ensuring the team understands why they are building something, not just what they are building.

We want a leader who can create a team where people take ownership, challenge assumptions, learn quickly and solve problems together.

7. Cross-Functional Leadership

Technology should not operate as an independent department.

You will work closely with:

- Founders
- Business & Operations
- Customer Support
- Marketing
- Finance
- HR
- Product and Engineering

You should be able to sit in a business discussion, understand the problem, challenge the thinking where required and translate the opportunity into a practical technology solution.

What We're Looking ForMust Have

- 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering / Technology, with significant leadership experience.
- Experience leading Engineering and Product teams.
- Strong experience in B2C E-commerce, Consumer Internet, Marketplace, HealthTech, SaaS or other high-growth technology businesses.
- Strong understanding of Product Management and Software Architecture.
- Robust technical understanding across Backend, Frontend, Mobile, Cloud, DevOps, QA, Databases, Security and CI/CD.
- Hands-on understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents and AI-driven product development.




- Experience building and scaling high-performing technology teams.
- Strong business understanding and commercial mindset.
- Ability to work directly with Founders and senior leadership.
- Strong decision-making, communication and problem-solving skills.

Strong Preference

We would particularly value candidates who have:

- Built their own app, product, startup or technology business.
- Taken a product from idea → MVP → launch → scale.
- Founded or co-founded a startup, even if the venture did not succeed.
- Built something independently outside their formal job responsibilities.
- Worked in an early-stage startup where they had significant ownership.
- Personally handled product, technology and business decisions rather than operating only within a specialised technical function.
- Experienced failure, learned from it and built again.
- A robust curiosity for technology, products and business.

Your startup does not need to have been successful. We are more interested in what you built, what you learned and how you think.
