Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Firmware Engineer to join our engineering team in Bangalore. In this role, you will contribute to the validation, testing, automation, and quality assurance of embedded networking and communication solutions that support critical Utilities & Energy infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality firmware releases while demonstrating customer focus, accountability, agility, innovation, and technical excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and execute firmware validation and integration test strategies for embedded networking products.

- Support end-to-end verification of communication technologies including 802.15, Wi-Fi, 802.11, LTE, and Bluetooth-based solutions.

- Perform protocol validation, interoperability testing, and system-level verification of embedded devices.

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across Layer 2, Layer 3, and Linux networking environments.

- Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts using Python to improve test efficiency, coverage, and product quality.

- Collaborate with firmware, software, systems, and product teams to ensure customer-centric delivery of robust solutions.

- Conduct root cause analysis of product issues and drive resolution through data-driven and accountable engineering practices.

- Execute network traffic analysis and protocol debugging using tools such as Wireshark.

- Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Support system integration and firmware verification activities on target hardware platforms.

- Contribute to agile development practices including sprint planning, reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, test reports,



and validation artifacts.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering organization.

- Identify innovative approaches to improve automation, testing efficiency, and overall product reliability.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 3 to 5 years of experience in embedded networking, protocol testing, and firmware validation.

- Robust knowledge of at least one communication technology: 802.15, Wi-Fi, 802.11, LTE, or Bluetooth.

- Good understanding of IP communication protocols including IPv4 and IPv6.

- Hands-on experience with Python-based automation.

- Working knowledge of C# is an advantage.

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across Layer 2 (L2), Layer 3 (L3), and Linux environments.

- Experience in embedded firmware verification and integration testing on target hardware.

- Familiarity with source code management tools such as Git, SVN, or Perforce.

- Experience using network analysis and debugging tools such as Wireshark.

- Good working knowledge of embedded Linux environments.

- Preferred Skills & Experience

- Experience with Smart Metering systems and products.

- Experience with ADS.

- CCNA or CCNP certification.





- Experience developing, enhancing, or maintaining automation frameworks.

- Familiarity with AI-enabled developer or test tools that improve validation efficiency, analytics, and reporting.

- Experience working with products serving Utilities, Energy, Industrial IoT, or connected device ecosystems.

- Experience leading technical initiatives and driving continuous improvement efforts.

- Passion for innovation, automation, and engineering excellence.

Education Required:

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical discipline.

Work Model: This position follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to work from the Bangalore office based on team collaboration requirements, business priorities, and the office attendance cadence established by their manager.
