Qualification

Graduate in Life Sciences, Medical Transcription, Healthcare Administration, or any discipline with a recognized certification in Medical Transcription.

Professional Experience

2–5 years of experience in medical transcription, clinical documentation, or healthcare secretarial services, with a solid track record of transcribing multi-specialty medical reports.

Role Purpose

To accurately listen to, interpret, and transcribe recorded audio dictations from medical consultants into highly precise, formatted electronic medical reports, ensuring absolute linguistic and clinical document integrity.

Key Responsibilities

- Transcribe voice recordings from physicians and surgeons into structured clinical documents, including operative logs, discharge summaries, history and physical reports, and consultation notes.

- Review, edit, and proofread automatically generated speech-to-text transcripts against original audio recordings to correct punctuation, structural formatting, and contextual errors.

- Translate complex medical terminology, clinical abbreviations, anatomical phrasing, and surgical jargon accurately without altering the clinician's intended meaning.

- Audit finalized clinical records for clarity, identifying inconsistencies, missing patient vitals, or conflicting diagnostic remarks, and flag them to the medical consultant for immediate review.





- Ensure all transcribed medical records strictly comply with hospital formatting guidelines, patient legal privacy standards, and quality benchmarks.

- Upload, index, and organize completed electronic health files directly into the Hospital Information System (HIS) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system within established turnaround timelines.

- Maintain a secure digital archive of transcription templates, medical reference lexicons, and physician-specific dictation preferences to improve departmental processing speeds.

- Advanced mastery of multi-specialty medical terminology, human anatomy, pharmacology, and surgical procedures.

- Exceptional listening skills, high typing speed, and extreme precision in data entry and documentation.

- Proficient in using dedicated medical transcription software, digital audio playback tools, foot pedals, and advanced word processing software.

- Keen attention to detail with the ability to identify subtle discrepancies or formatting misalignments in complex medical reports.

- High level of professional discipline regarding patient data privacy, data security, and confidentiality regulations.
