We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic B.Sc. Chemistry fresher to join our Quality Control / Laboratory team at our food manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in routine laboratory testing, quality checks, sample analysis, and maintaining proper laboratory records to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of chemistry, good observation skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Assist in routine chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished food products.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests under the guidance of senior chemists.
- Assist in testing parameters such as pH, acidity, moisture, fat, and other applicable quality parameters.
- Handle laboratory instruments and equipment carefully as per standard procedures.
- Ensure proper sampling, labelling, and storage of samples.
2. Quality Control
- Assist the QC team in checking the quality of incoming raw materials and finished products.
- Support quality checks during different stages of production.
- Report abnormal test results or deviations to the concerned senior.
- Follow approved SOPs, quality procedures, and food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the laboratory and assigned work areas.
3. Documentation & Records
- Maintain daily laboratory testing records and registers.
- Record test results accurately and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist in preparing quality reports and maintaining sample records.
- Support the team in maintaining calibration and equipment usage records.
- Ensure laboratory documents are updated and properly maintained.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Follow laboratory safety procedures while handling chemicals and equipment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Handle chemicals, glassware, and laboratory instruments responsibly.
- Follow company policies, GMP, hygiene, and food safety practices.
- Report any laboratory safety concerns to the reporting manager.
5. Learning & Development
- Learn laboratory testing methods and food quality parameters.
- Develop practical knowledge of dairy and food product quality testing.
- Assist senior team members in investigations of quality deviations.
- Participate in training related to quality control, food safety, and laboratory practices.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university.
- Freshers are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of Organic, Inorganic, and Analytical Chemistry.
- Basic understanding of laboratory testing and chemical handling.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and MS Word.
- Willingness to work in a food manufacturing plant and learn laboratory operations.
- Candidates residing in or around Hooghly, Bardhaman, or nearby areas may be preferred.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
