Job Overview
SSPYV is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified Computer Teacher to teach students from Classes I–X. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of computer applications, information technology, digital tools, and age-appropriate computer education, along with the ability to make technology engaging and accessible to students across different grade levels.
The teacher will be responsible for developing students' digital literacy, computer proficiency, logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and responsible use of technology, while providing both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Computer Science/Computer Applications to Classes I–X in accordance with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate, and practical computer lessons for students across primary, middle, and secondary levels.
- Develop students' understanding of computer fundamentals, operating systems, office applications, internet usage, digital literacy, and cyber safety.
- Introduce age-appropriate concepts of coding, programming, computational thinking, and problem-solving as prescribed in the curriculum.
- Conduct regular computer laboratory sessions and provide students with hands-on experience in using computers and relevant software.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, practical activities, assignments, projects, assessments, and other appropriate learning resources.
- Encourage students to use technology creatively, responsibly, safely, and effectively.
- Assess and monitor students' progress through classwork, practical work, projects, assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Identify students who require additional academic support and provide appropriate remedial and differentiated learning strategies.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, inclusive, and technology-friendly classroom and computer laboratory environment.
- Ensure that students follow proper computer lab rules, cyber-safety practices, and responsible digital behaviour.
- Guide students in preparing computer-based projects, presentations, and other technology-related activities.
- Support the effective use of digital teaching tools, smart classrooms, educational software, and technology-based learning resources.
- Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, academic performance, practical assessments, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and areas requiring improvement.
- Participate actively in school assemblies, competitions, exhibitions, examinations, meetings, training programmes, and other school activities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and academic coordinators to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning.
- Assist in the proper use and basic upkeep of computers, peripherals, and other digital equipment in the computer laboratory.
- Support the overall discipline, safety, well-being, and holistic development of students.
- Uphold the values, policies, culture, and educational vision of SSPYV at all times.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification is preferred.
- Knowledge of coding/programming and age-appropriate educational technology will be an advantage.
- Ability to conduct both theoretical and practical computer classes effectively.
