JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our Analytics team. In this crucial role, you will act as a bridge between our business units and the data team, translating business needs into actionable data requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements for reports and dashboards, understand IT systems, and define key performance indicators (KPIs) and dimensions. Your insights will be essential in guiding our Data Modelers in creating efficient and effective data structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engage with business stakeholders across various departments to understand their reporting and analytics needs.

- Conduct requirement gathering sessions and workshops to elicit detailed business requirements for reports and dashboards.

- Analyze existing IT systems and data flows to understand data availability, quality, and potential integration points.

- Define and document KPIs, metrics, and dimensions that align with business objectives and strategy.





- Create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs) and functional specifications for reporting and analytics projects.

- Collaborate closely with Data Models to ensure that data models accurately represent business needs and support required analytics capabilities.

- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, ensuring explicit definitions of business terms and metrics across the organization.

- Assist in the development and Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate sign-offs on system implementations.

- Work with QA teams to develop test cases and ensure successful system testing.

- Participate in data governance initiatives, helping to establish data quality standards and metadata management practices.

Skills required

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Bring Product ownership mindset for building Data assets which are used across organization.

- Strong understanding of Data lake, data warehousing concepts, Dimensional modeling and business intelligence solutions.

- Experience in requirement gathering and documentation for complex data-driven projects.

- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik) and SQL.

- Knowledge of data modeling concepts and ability to create conceptual and Logical data models.

- Understanding of IT systems and data integration concepts.

Desired qualifications and experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. MBA or relevant master's degree is a plus.

- 8 to 12 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in analytics, reporting, or business intelligence projects.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both business and technical stakeholders

- Experience with Agile methodologies

- Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint

- Experience in the life Insurance industry and relevant industry like finance, Banking, General Insurance etc.
