Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced English Language Development (ELD) Curriculum Expert to support the review, development, and curation of ELD curriculum. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in English language structures, curriculum design, assessment development, and U.S. K-12 ELD standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review curriculum maps to ensure appropriate scope and sequence of skills and alignment with lesson content.
- Review lesson materials for accuracy and clarity of English grammar and language structures.
- Develop transparent, teacher- and student-friendly learning objectives.
- Select, modify, or create assessment items aligned with essential learning targets.
- Sequence and prioritize vocabulary, grammar, and language structures based on curriculum purpose and learner proficiency.
- Review and curate curriculum tracks for targeted purposes, age groups, and proficiency levels.
- Identify essential priority lessons, extension lessons, and supporting lessons.
- Align instructional content with WIDA 2020 standards,



language expectations, and proficiency levels.
- Interpret and map other U.S. ELD standards, including TELPAS, ELPAC, and ELPA21.
- Clearly explain English language structures and ELD concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of language expertise

Required Skills

- Relevant English-language teaching credential or qualification such as TEFL, CELTA, TESOL, TESL, or an applicable teaching license, endorsement, or authorization.
- Experience teaching Dedicated ELD, preferably with secondary students.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, and language structures.
- Knowledge of language development across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Experience in ELD curriculum design, curriculum mapping, and assessment development.
- Expertise in sequencing language structures and skills to build functional communication skills.
- Working knowledge of U.S. K-12 ELD standards and terminology.
- Clear understanding of WIDA 2020 and familiarity with other ELD frameworks such as TELPAS, ELPAC, and ELPA21.
