The person is responsible for overall Planning of Resource availability, assess lead times and plan for Manpower, Schedule Materials receipt inside the plant for the Production and ensure ON Time Delivery of all Projects.
Primary Responsibility Includes:
- Prepare the Risk Analysis of the Project on receipt of Customer Order and prepare mitigation actions in co-ordination with other functions.
- Prepare the production plan on broad aspects as well as detailed activity list.
Scheduling of Activities inside the shop-floor the to suit the planned delivery dates.
- Ensuring the PR’s are made in time and interact with Sourcing and Quality to ensure the smooth flow of Materials.
- Prepare a detailed Plan vs Actual Status for both the Activities and the Material status.
Highlight points of concern well in advance.
- Dynamically modify the plan depending on the customer requirements and fresh orders.
- Track the Project progress and highlight delays.
- Track the Inspection stages offered by suppliers and check the status of inspections to understand delays due to rework, delays in receipt if materials for in house production.
- Make or Buy decisions depending on the schedule and resource availability.
- Monitoring Inventory levels, periodically assess Safety stock levels based on Forecast Orders.
- Scrap reduction, Inventory control.
- MIS Reporting – Monthly reports and project-based reports.
- ISO documentation and coordination.
- Updating the process and procedures when there are changes.
- Implement the best practices.
Must be conversant in SAP HANA on PP and MM Modules.
Project based working environment.
Independently handle the function.
Must be able to read drawings, knowledge of various fabrication and machining processes is a must.
Regular Activities:
- Preparing /modifying and releasing of PR’s based on modifications.
- Production Orders release for the shop floor.
- Amendments in Production orders.
- Preparation of Delivery Note.
- Monitor the stock movement in SAP.
- Allocation of Stock to respective Projects.
- Update the delays in receipt of materials, or interruption production.
- Assessment of the manpower availability.
- Ensure the production order confirmation from the shopfloor.
Weekly:
- Whenever current orders are received prepare the milestones.
- Prepare the weekly report update.
Highlight areas / activities that did not complete as per plan.
- Track the materials flow and highlight when there are delays.
- Prepare the daily schedule of activities in the shopfloor for the next week.
- Imported materials – review of the planned shipment dates.
- Review of PR to PO conversion status.
- Review with Quality for their Inspection plan at suppliers’ place.
Monthly:
- Circulate the next month production plan.
- Inventory analysis for distribution across projects.
- Inventory analysis for non-moving materials.
- Monthly report on the plan vs actual.
- Shelf-life materials – Items that have risk of expiry in the next 3 to 6 months.
- WIP confirmation for finance.
- Standard hours vs actual hours for the completed components.
- Long leads status for future orders.
Apart from this the following are to be prepared on receipt of orders:
- Critical components.
- Call for a meeting with all the departments concerned like Quality, production, sourcing.
- Risk mapping of the delivery schedule based on material receipt dates, capacity constraints, insufficient details, new revisions or drawings, new product development.
