1. Job Purpose

To manage the day-to-day operation of the in-house pharmacy dispensing medicines accurately against valid prescriptions, maintaining stock and statutory records, and ensuring full compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the rules made thereunder.

2. Key Responsibilities

● Dispense medicines and consumables against valid prescriptions, verifying drug, strength, dosage, and quantity before issue.

● Check prescriptions for obvious dosage errors, duplications, and known allergies, and clarify any doubt with the prescribing doctor before dispensing.

● Counsel patients and attendants on dosage, timing, method of administration, and storage of medicines.

● Maintain stock levels, raise indents and purchase orders, and coordinate with suppliers on deliveries and shortages.

● Track expiry dates, segregate and return near-expiry and damaged stock, and ensure correct storage conditions including cold chain items.

● Maintain all statutory registers and records, including Schedule H and H1 entries, purchase and sale bills, and narcotic records where applicable.

● Handle pharmacy billing and daily cash or payment reconciliation, and hand over collections as per company procedure.





● Coordinate with the nursing and homecare teams on patient medicine requirements, refills, and dispatch of medicines for patients under home care.

● Conduct periodic physical stock verification against system records, report variances, and keep the pharmacy clean, orderly, and audit-ready at all times.

3. Qualifications and Experience

● D.Pharm or B.Pharm from a recognised institution.

● Valid and current registration with the Tamil Nadu State Pharmacy Council.

● One to two years of experience in a hospital, retail, or institutional pharmacy preferred. Freshers with valid registration may be considered.

● Working knowledge of pharmacy billing software and basic computer operation; fluency in Tamil and working knowledge of English.

4. Conduct and Compliance

● Dispense prescription medicines strictly against a valid prescription, and never against a verbal request alone.

● Maintain confidentiality of all patient prescriptions and records, and adhere to company policy on pricing, discounts, and credit; no concession shall be given without prior approval.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
