CAD Modelling Engineer (3-4 Years)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled CAD Modeller to join our Mechanical Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating industrial design concepts into production-ready 3D models. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for aesthetics and ergonomics, specialized expertise in complex product surface modeling, and a rigorous understanding of manufacturing constraints.

​​Key Responsibilities

- Advanced Surface Modeling: Develop complex, high-quality Class-A and Class-B surfacing for consumer hardware and electronic enclosures, maintaining smooth curvature continuity and clean topology.
- Mechanical Design & DFM: Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles specifically for plastic injection molding (draft angles, wall thickness, rib/boss design, snap-fits) and sheet metal fabrication (bends, clearances, tolerances).
- Parametric Modelling: Build robust, parametric 3D assemblies that can easily accommodate engineering changes.
- Engineering Documentation: Create clear, comprehensive, and manufacturing-ready 2D engineering drawings with proper GD&T;, part numbers, and annotations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with industrial designers, electronics teams, and toolmakers to resolve packaging, thermal, and tooling challenges.

Required Skills & Expertise

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in CAD modeling within a product design or hardware development workplace.
- Software Proficiency:
- Mandatory:



Expert-level skills in Fusion 360 and SolidWorks.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Rhino for freeform organic surface modeling.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of plastic part design and sheet metal DFM.
- Strong capability in interpreting and generating standard engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods and mass-production tooling constraints.

Qualifications

- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in CAD modeling within a product design, hardware development, or manufacturing environment.
- Software Proficiency:
- Mandatory: Strong, hands-on expertise in Fusion 360 and SolidWorks.
- Preferred / Bonus: Proficiency in Rhino for advanced freeform organic surface modeling.
- Core Technical Skills:
- Specialized expertise in product surface modeling (Class-A/Class-B surfacing) and solid modeling.
- Thorough working knowledge of Plastic DFM (draft angles, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, snap-fits) and Sheet Metal DFM.
- Complete familiarity with creating, interpreting, and detailing manufacturing-ready 2D engineering drawings.
