Reporting To: Plant Manager / Production Head
Department: Manufacturing / Production EngineeringPosition OverviewThe Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shop-floor operations, managing manpower, and ensuring that manufacturing targets are achieved safely and efficiently. This role serves as the direct link between plant management and the workforce, maintaining high quality standards and minimizing machine downtime.Key ResponsibilitiesShop-Floor Supervision & Execution

- Supervise daily activities of technicians, machine operators, and contractual laborers.
- Ensure production lines operate smoothly to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
- Monitor machine utilization and track Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on the floor.
- Identify bottlenecks in production and implement corrective actions immediately.

Production Planning & ERP Coordination

- Collaborate with the Production Planning Control (PPC) department to execute the daily production schedule.
- Coordinate material movement and ensure raw materials are issued correctly for the shift.




- Assist in updating production data, material consumption, and shift logs in the ERP system

Quality & Safety Compliance

- Enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Assurance guidelines.
- Ensure all floor workers wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Drive 5S principles and Kaizen practices to keep the workspace organized, clean, and effective.
- Inspect finished goods or sub-assemblies to minimize rejection rates and rework.

Manpower & Labor Management

- Manage shift schedules, worker allocation, and daily attendance verification.
- Train new operators and helpers on machine operations and safety protocols.
- Maintain discipline on the shop floor and resolve minor worker grievances or conflicts.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing plant, fabrication unit, or heavy engineering facility.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, machine operations (like Lathe, CNC, or assembly lines), and reading engineering drawings
