Key Responsibilities

- Dispense prescription medicines accurately as per the prescription and applicable regulations.
- Verify prescriptions for drug name, dosage, quantity, interactions, and possible contraindications.
- Provide patients with transparent instructions regarding dosage, administration, precautions, and storage of medicines.
- Maintain proper records of medicines dispensed, purchased, returned, and expired.
- Ensure medicines are stored appropriately according to temperature and storage requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely procurement of medicines and pharmacy supplies.
- Check medicines regularly for expiry dates, batch numbers, damaged packs, and proper labeling.
- Maintain separate and accurate records for controlled/scheduled medicines as required by applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding medication-related queries.
- Identify and report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, or other safety concerns to the appropriate authority.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy procedures, hospital policies, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and proper organization of the pharmacy.
- Assist with stock audits and periodic physical verification of pharmacy inventory.




- Prepare purchase requirements and assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Maintain all pharmacy registers, bills, invoices, and other required documentation.
- Ensure proper disposal of expired, damaged, or unusable medicines as per applicable procedures.
- Support internal and external inspections/audits and provide required records.
- Perform any other pharmacy-related duties assigned by the management.

Required Qualifications

- D.Pharm / B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Pharmacy Council.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, prescriptions, dosage forms, and medication safety.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to maintain pharmacy records.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience

- 0–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Freshers with the required qualification and registration may also be considered.
