Job Description (JD) – Electrician (Textile Industry)

Position: Electrician
Department: Maintenance
Industry: Textile Manufacturing
Experience: Minimum 5 Years
Location: Erode / Textile Unit
Reporting To: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of textile machinery and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in spinning, weaving, sizing, warping, airjet looms, compressors, and utility equipment.
- Maintain motors, drives, control panels, starters, and electrical circuits.
- Inspect and repair electrical wiring, switchgears, MCC panels, and distribution boards.
- Monitor power consumption and ensure efficient utilization of electrical resources.
- Attend emergency machine breakdowns and reduce downtime.
- Ensure proper functioning of DG sets, transformers, and utility equipment.
- Follow electrical safety standards and company safety procedures.
- Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and service reports.




- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for continuous plant operations.

Required Qualifications

- ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Valid Electrical License will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in textile mills.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance.
- Experience in motors, VFDs, PLC-based systems, sensors, and control panels.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot circuits.
- Understanding of safety procedures and preventive maintenance practices.
- Positive problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in Spinning, Weaving, Processing, Sizing, or Airjet Loom units.
- Exposure to textile machinery electrical maintenance and automation systems.
