Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior Database / SQL Developer with 2+ years of experience to support the IRT ERP project in database development, data migration, data validation, SQL development, data cleansing, and database support.

The candidate will work closely with the ERP Functional, Application Development, Database, and Data Migration teams to analyze legacy data and transform it into the new ERP database structure.

Experience in ERP implementation, database migration, or enterprise application projects will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Design & Development

- Create and maintain tables, primary keys, foreign keys, indexes, sequences, constraints, and views.
- Understand normalized relational database design and appropriate relationships between master and transaction tables.
- Develop and maintain database objects based on application and functional requirements.
- Support module-wise database development and data structure implementation.
- Follow established database naming conventions, standards, and design guidelines.

2. Data Migration

- Analyze legacy database tables and understand source data structures.
- Perform source-to-target table and column mapping.
- Support migration of legacy data into the new ERP database.
- Develop SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading.
- Handle data conversion, standardization, duplicate identification, and missing/invalid data.
- Support migration from Excel, Access, legacy databases, and other source systems into PostgreSQL staging and target databases.
- Develop staging tables and transformation scripts wherever required.
- Validate migrated data against source data and defined ERP business rules.




- Identify data inconsistencies and coordinate with functional teams for clarification and resolution.
- Prepare migration validation and reconciliation reports.

3. SQL Development

- Develop SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and validation.
- Write joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregate queries, functions, procedures, and views.
- Develop data correction and transformation scripts.
- Support SQL-based reporting and data analysis requirements.
- Troubleshoot SQL errors and data-related issues.
- Optimize SQL queries for migration, validation, and reporting requirements.

4. Data Validation & Database Support

- Perform source-to-target data validation after migration.
- Compare record counts, key fields, totals, and critical business data between source and target systems.
- Identify data discrepancies and assist in root-cause analysis.
- Support application teams in resolving database-related issues.
- Perform data corrections based on approved business requirements.
- Maintain migration scripts, validation scripts, and database documentation.
- Support SIT, UAT, data verification, and Go-Live activities as required.

Required Technical Skills

- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Robust SQL programming skills.
- Good understanding of relational database concepts.

- Knowledge of database normalization and relational data modelling.
- Hands-on experience in data migration and data cleansing.

- Basic understanding of query optimization and database performance.
- Basic Linux knowledge is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in an ERP implementation project.
- Experience in legacy database migration.
- Experience working with large datasets and data reconciliation.
- Exposure to PostgreSQL migration tools, staging databases, or ETL processes.
- Experience working with Functional, Development, Testing, and Data Migration teams.
- Exposure to Oracle, SQL Server, Access, or Excel-based legacy data is an advantage.

Education

- B.E. / B.Tech – Computer Science / Information Technology / Any Engineering discipline
- MCA / M.Sc. Computer Science / Information Technology
- Any equivalent qualification with relevant database development experience.

Role Objective

The primary objective of this role is to support the ERP database and data migration activities by ensuring accurate, validated, cleansed, and properly structured data is migrated from legacy systems into the new ERP database.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
