Position Title: E&I; Design Engineer

Location: Mysore, Karnataka, India

Department: Engineering / Production

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical System Design Engineer with 4 – 6 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD and capable of independently creating accurate and efficient structural and piping drawings. Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards will be a significant advantage.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education:

- Bachelors in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Skilled in CAD tools, P&ID; drafting, and industrial automation design.
- Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI (Siemens)
- Software proficiency: AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks.

Experience:

- 4 – 6 years of experience in Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering design.
- Focus on control panel designs, wiring and termination drawings etc.
- Experience in preparing electrical system drawings as per project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and prepare detailed 2D and 3D design drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution networks and control panel assemblies.
- Produce comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
- Design and specify instrumentation systems, such as sensors, transmitters, flow meters, pressure gauges, and control valves.
- Design and selection of Power Cable, Control Cable, Cable Trays, Cable glands, Junction box, Light Fixtures and Space Heaters.
- Perform detailed load studies, cable sizing, and voltage drop calculations to ensure optimal power distribution efficiency.




- Engineer and specify instrumentation systems including sensors, transmitters, flow meters, pressure gauges, and control valves.
- Develop detailed documentation such as P&IDs; (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), instrument loop diagrams, and Instrumentation data sheet for all type of field instruments.
- Design and Detail Engineering including preparation of MTO, BOM, Technical document like Instrument Index, Instrument Data Sheet, Specification of Field Instruments.
- Knowledge in Electrical and Instrumentation Earthing Philosophy.
- Choose suitable instruments and control devices based on process functionality and site-specific conditions.
- Ensure all designs are compliant with relevant industry codes and safety standards (e.g., IEC, IECEx, ATEX, ISA).
- Prepare technical documentation for regulatory approvals, including safety analyses, manuals, and compliance certifications.
- Create and maintain documents such as control philosophies, Functional Design Specifications (FDS), and I/O lists.
- Manage design revisions, maintain project records, and generate as-built documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, fabrication, and QA/QC teams.
- Interpret technical specifications and integrate applicable codes and standards into designs.
- Review and update drawings and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure timely delivery of quality design outputs.

Working Conditions:

- Full-time position.
- Primarily office-based with occasional time spent in production facilities to test designs depending on the project requirements.
- Occasional travel may be required to project sites or client meetings.
