LEAD SYSTEMS ENGINEER – AUTOMATION & MS TEAMS

Overview
We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer with strong automation development experience and hands on scripting expertise to design, build, and maintain enterprise grade automation solutions. The role is primarily focused on developing reusable scripts, automation frameworks, API based integrations, reporting solutions, validation controls, and remediation workflows using PowerShell, Python, Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, and related technologies. The candidate should also have practical exposure to Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, and collaboration workloads, to support automation, service interoperability, governance, monitoring, and operational efficiency in a large enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Solution Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable scripting and automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, Microsoft Graph API and REST APIs to automate Microsoft Teams operational processes, governance controls, reporting, provisioning, validation, and remediation activities.
Automation Architecture and Tooling: Build reusable scripting frameworks, orchestration workflows, self service tools, standardized modules, and scheduled automation jobs to enable efficient administration, lifecycle management, and supportability of Microsoft Teams services.
Systems Integration and Teams Interoperability Engineering: Develop and maintain integrations between Microsoft Teams and enterprise platforms including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, ITSM tools, monitoring platforms, compliance systems, SBC platforms, SIP services, and other Unified Communications components to streamline operational processes, service interoperability, and data flows.
Data Engineering, Reporting and Analytics: Engineer automated reporting and analytics solutions using Graph API, PowerShell, Power BI, Log Analytics, call quality data, device telemetry, and operational logs to deliver actionable insights, service metrics, compliance reporting, governance visibility, and decision ready dashboards.
Microsoft 365 Services, Teams Interoperability and Platform Reliability: Apply solid technical knowledge across Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, collaboration workloads, voice services, policies, conferencing, and application governance. Support interoperability with enterprise Unified Communications platforms and monitoring platforms,



while designing automated health checks, validation, alerting, and remediation mechanisms to improve service reliability, operational efficiency, and user experience.
Operational Engineering and Continuous Improvement: Identify manual, repetitive, and high risk operational activities and transform them into automated, scalable, and supportable solutions while driving standardization, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement across Microsoft Teams operations.
Technical Governance and Engineering Documentation: Create and maintain engineering standards, automation runbooks, solution designs, operational procedures, governance controls, and technical documentation to support sustainable Microsoft Teams platform operations and future automation enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience as an automation developer or automation engineer, with strong hands on expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise grade automation solutions. The candidate should have practical work exposure to Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Teams.
Core technical expertise should include:
Automation Development: PowerShell, Python, Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, scheduled automation, workflow orchestration, reusable modules, error handling, logging, secure scripting practices.
Microsoft 365 Services Exposure: Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, compliance services, policy management, user administration, device administration, service governance.
Systems Integration and API Development: Graph API, REST APIs, PowerShell modules, service accounts, certificates, application permissions, ITSM workflows, monitoring platforms, compliance systems, reporting integrations.
Reporting, Analytics and Data Handling: Data extraction, data transformation, data validation, Power BI, Log Analytics, CSV, JSON, operational telemetry, dashboards, governance reports, service metrics.
Operational Automation and Reliability: Health checks, monitoring scripts, validation reports, remediation workflows, alert handling, lifecycle automation, support tools,



reliability engineering, operational efficiency.
Enterprise Platform and Governance Knowledge: ITSM, access governance, application governance, compliance controls, change management, incident management, service health reporting, automation governance, operational controls.
Documentation and Process Knowledge: Automation runbooks, technical design documents, operational procedures, validation checklists, support guides, knowledge transfer materials, ITIL awareness, Microsoft 365 certifications, Microsoft Graph certifications, automation certifications.
