AI Data Engineer | Remote (Canada) | Contract

GJIT Consulting is recruiting an experienced AI Data Engineer for a remote, contract-based chance with one of our Canadian clients.

Compensation:- CAD $110,000–$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Contract Length:- 1 year, with strong possibility of extension
Location:- Remote (Canada)

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on AI Data Engineer to help design, deploy, and scale production-grade AI/ML systems — from data pipelines to LLM-powered applications. You'll work closely with Data Scientists and Engineering teams to bring AI solutions from prototype to production.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain MLOps, CI/CD, and ETL pipelines

- Deploy, monitor, and optimize AI/ML models in production

- Develop LLM-based and agentic AI solutions

- Conduct prompt engineering and model benchmarking

- Manage data, model, and experiment versioning

- Apply AI governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices





- Partner with cross-functional teams to operationalize AI solutions

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong proficiency in Python and Pandas

- Experience with Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs, LangGraph, CrewAI, and/or AutoGen

- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes

- Experience with MLflow or DVC for versioning

- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, and microservices architecture

Preferred Qualifications

- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, or GCP Vertex AI
