Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Process Associate / Senior Accounts Officer to join our UK Accounting division, specializing in Record to Report (R2R), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. This role requires an experienced professional with a deep understanding of UK bookkeeping, month-end closing activities, and VAT compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Bank and Account Reconciliations: Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements, accounts receivable, and vendor ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Month-End Activities: Assist in month-end closing processes, including preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.
- VAT Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate recording of VAT transactions and assist with VAT return filings.
- Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process supplier invoices, verify expenses, and match pricing with contracts or purchase orders.
- Follow up on pending payments and outstanding invoices.
- Manage supplier refunds and ensure proper documentation.
- Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Record and allocate customer payments accurately.
- Maintain and update receipt records and handle customer refunds efficiently.
- Quality Control & Review: Take ownership of reviewing accounting entries and reconciliations before final submission to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvement opportunities by gaining in-depth business knowledge and driving operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in UK accounting processes.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Xero (or similar UK accounting software).
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, etc.).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
