Position: Mid-Level Software Tester / QA Engineer

Length: Permanent position with a six-month probation period

Qualification: Any Graduate or Above

Work Hours: 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM – Fixed shift (Mon-Fri) – Work from office

Job Overview

We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Tester / QA Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a strong focus on Automation Testing and Security Testing.

The ideal candidate should have solid Manual Testing fundamentals, good experience in automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or PyTest, and practical knowledge of web and API security testing. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and security of our applications while working closely with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Analyze requirements and prepare comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Perform Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Integration, System, and End-to-End Testing.
- Conduct UI/UX, Cross-Browser, Exploratory, Negative, and Edge-Case Testing.
- Perform production validation and support release quality checks.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects using appropriate bug-tracking tools.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for functional and regression testing.




- Work with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or PyTest.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and continuously improve automation coverage and reliability.
- Perform REST API testing using Postman and validate requests, responses, status codes, headers, authentication, and JSON data.
- Perform basic API security testing, including authentication, authorization, and negative test scenarios.
- Conduct web application security testing based on OWASP best practices.
- Identify common security vulnerabilities such as XSS, SQL Injection, CSRF, IDOR, authentication, and access-control issues.
- Use security testing tools such as Burp Suite and/or OWASP ZAP.
- Collaborate with developers to identify root causes of defects and security vulnerabilities and verify fixes.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, test coverage, automation, and overall product quality.
- Maintain appropriate testing documentation and communicate testing status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Stay updated with modern testing practices, automation frameworks, and application security standards.

Qualifications

- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in Software Testing / QA.
- Strong understanding of Manual Testing and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Valuable hands-on experience in Automation Testing using Selenium, Playwright,



Cypress, PyTest, or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of automated functional and regression testing.
- Good knowledge of API Testing using Postman.
- Good practical understanding of Security Testing for web applications and APIs.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and common web application vulnerabilities.
- Hands-on familiarity with Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or similar security testing tools.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, access control, and API security.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
- Basic knowledge of Git/version control.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to AI/LLM application testing, including prompt-based testing and identifying hallucinations, prompt injection, and data leakage.
- Basic understanding of performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Experience testing applications across different browsers, devices, and environments.
- Knowledge of SQL and basic database validation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Relevant certifications in Software Testing, Automation, or Application Security will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
