We are looking for a QA/QC Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control activities for semiconductor, industrial, EPC, gas, chemical, and high-purity utility projects.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that project activities, installations, fabrication, welding, piping, equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and handover are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), applicable codes and standards, safety procedures, and client requirements.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in QA/QC inspection, piping and welding inspection, weld coupon inspection, NDT activities, quality documentation, NCR/CAPA, and project quality coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor QA/QC activities throughout project execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Prepare, implement, and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, method statements, quality records, and inspection documentation.
- Inspect incoming materials, equipment, piping, fittings, welding, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved specifications and project requirements.
- Review project drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, WPS/PQR, and applicable quality requirements before execution.
- Monitor the quality of installation activities related to gas systems, chemical systems, high-purity utilities, piping, equipment, and industrial systems.
- Inspect and verify weld coupons, welding activities, weld quality, and related documentation in accordance with approved WPS/PQR, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality requirements.
- Verify welder qualifications, welding procedures, welding consumables, welding parameters, and welding inspection records as applicable.
- Perform or coordinate applicable Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and review NDT reports/results for compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure proper inspection and documentation of welding,
fabrication, installation, pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, cleaning, and other applicable activities.
- Identify quality deviations and coordinate the issue, tracking, and closure of NCRs, observations, punch points, and corrective actions.
- Conduct or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for identified quality issues.
- Maintain inspection reports, material certificates, test reports, calibration records, NDT reports, welding records, quality dossiers, and project handover documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, site teams, vendors, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and third-party inspection agencies for inspections and quality-related activities.
- Coordinate and support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and final inspection activities as applicable.
- Monitor subcontractor and vendor compliance with approved quality requirements and project specifications.
- Support internal, client, consultant, supplier, and third-party quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO 9001 requirements, project specifications, statutory requirements, safety procedures, applicable codes/standards, and company quality procedures.
- Track quality issues and provide regular quality status reports to the Project Manager / Management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a zero-defect approach across project activities.
- Maintain proper control and traceability of inspection and quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform other QA/QC and project-related responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant QA/QC experience in industrial, EPC, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, chemical, gas, cleanroom, or high-purity utility projects.
- Experience in welding inspection, piping inspection, weld coupon inspection, or NDT activities is required/preferred depending on project requirements.
- Candidates with experience in gas/chemical piping, high-purity utility systems, semiconductor projects, or critical industrial installations will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection practices, and quality control processes.
- Good knowledge of welding inspection, weld coupons, WPS/PQR, welder qualification, and NDT requirements.
- Knowledge of piping inspection, pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, cleaning, and installation inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs;, isometric drawings, specifications, and project quality requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and applicable quality standards/codes.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and documentation/reporting tools.
- Strong documentation, reporting, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with site teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, third-party inspectors, and clients.
- Robust attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues before they affect project progress.
- Ability to work independently at project/site locations and coordinate multiple quality activities.
Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
