Job Summary

Geo Foundations & Structures Pvt Ltd is looking for an experienced Geotechnical Manager to lead our Geotechnical Engineering Wing based in Perungudi, Chennai.

The position requires a senior geotechnical professional with strong experience in geotechnical investigations, interpretation of soil and rock investigation data, foundation recommendations, technical reporting, and management of geotechnical projects.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the geotechnical team, overseeing field and laboratory investigations, reviewing technical deliverables, coordinating with clients and consultants, and ensuring that projects are completed to the required technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the company's Geotechnical Engineering Wing.
- Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations for industrial, infrastructure, commercial and other civil engineering projects.
- Review borehole data, field investigation results and laboratory test results.
- Interpret soil and rock parameters and develop appropriate geotechnical recommendations.
- Review and finalize Geotechnical Investigation Reports (GIR) and technical reports.
- Provide recommendations for shallow and deep foundations based on investigation results.
- Review bearing capacity, settlement and other relevant geotechnical assessments.
- Provide technical input for piling, ground improvement and foundation-related projects.
- Oversee field investigations including boreholes, SPT and other in-situ testing.
- Coordinate laboratory testing programs and review test results.
- Ensure investigations and reports comply with applicable IS codes, specifications and project requirements.
- Review proposals, investigation methodologies, BOQs and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with clients,



structural consultants, project teams and other stakeholders.
- Attend technical meetings and provide solutions to geotechnical issues.
- Guide and mentor geotechnical engineers, geologists, laboratory personnel and field teams.
- Monitor project schedules, manpower and resources across multiple geotechnical assignments.
- Support management in technical proposals, tendering and development of the geotechnical business.

Qualification

Mandatory:

M.E./M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering / Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering or equivalent

Candidates should have 10+ years of relevant professional experience after completion of M.E./M.Tech.

A B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with postgraduate specialization in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.

- Geotechnical report preparation and review

- Technical team management

Knowledge of geotechnical analysis/design software will be an added advantage.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who can combine strong geotechnical fundamentals with practical field experience and managerial capability.

The candidate should be capable of independently reviewing geotechnical investigations, identifying technical issues, providing engineering recommendations, managing multiple assignments and representing the company in technical discussions with clients and consultants.
