Job Description
The role entails supporting a senior skilled from the Finance team of a leading Private Equity fund. The candidate is responsible for the full-cycle accounting, reporting, and operational support for a portfolio of alternative investment funds, with a dedicated focus on asset-level project accounting within infrastructure (specifically fixed assets), private debt, and private equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and validate portfolio company actuals at the asset level, performing lookback analysis and comparing actual development costs to initial estimates.
- Produce complex ad-hoc financial reports, including revenue/income, cash allocation schedules, and DM/CM fee review workbooks to provide actionable insights.
- Perform incentive and IRR calculations for co-investors; utilize Yardi to calculate and verify DM/CM fees to ensure consistency with Development Management Agreements.
- Manage end-to-end accounting for off taker agreements and infrastructure projects, including accurate billings, weekly settlements, and the allocation of costs from master jobs based on cost-sharing agreements.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for specific portfolio entities (in Workiva), with a focus on capitalization, development, and construction-related disclosures
- Conduct monthly balance sheet and job cost sub-ledger to GL reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly job cost accrual analysis,
perform diligent searches for unrecorded liabilities, and prepare JE ETLs for transactions outside the regular payables process.
- Process investor capital contributions and distributions in accordance with fund agreements, while supporting construction loan reporting and project-level tracking.
Key competencies:-
- At least 4–6 years of full-cycle accounting and reporting experience, with a focus on asset-level accounting, job costing, and financial instruments. Experience in the infrastructure, energy, or real estate sectors is highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Yardi and Workiva.
- Proven expertise in sub-ledger to GL reconciliations, monthly accrual analysis, and the ability to interpret DM/CM Agreements and cost-sharing structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to clearly convey financial data trends.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex organizational structures.
- Ability to solve practical problems and continuously identify new ways to improve processes.
- Chartered Accountant, MBA from a top tier business school.
