Roles & Responsibilities:
Business Development ManagerCountAI (AI-Powered for Textile Manufacturing)

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth for CountAI's AI-powered quality inspection and computer-vision solutions (e.g., Knit-i) by identifying, developing, and closing new business with textile and apparel manufacturers. Prior experience in merchandising, sourcing, or vendor management with large fashion brands is a strong asset — it brings an understanding of the quality, compliance, and sourcing pressures that make AI-driven inspection valuable, along with a network that can open doors into manufacturing facilities supplying those brands.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Business Development & Sales Strategy

- Identify and develop recent business opportunities with textile mills, knitting/weaving units, garment manufacturers, and fabric processing units.
- Build and execute a go-to-market strategy to expand CountAI's footprint across textile manufacturing hubs, targeting factories supplying large fashion/retail brands.
- Set and achieve sales targets, revenue goals, and deployment/installation pipeline objectives.
- Track industry trends around quality compliance, automation adoption, and Industry 4.0/AI adoption in textile manufacturing to identify new opportunities.

2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

- Leverage existing relationships with fashion brands, buying houses, and sourcing agencies to identify and get warm introductions into their supplier/manufacturing base.
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at manufacturing units — plant heads, quality heads, production heads, and management — who are the direct buyers of CountAI's systems.
- Understand each client's quality inspection pain points (manual inspection cost, defect leakage, rework, compliance failures) and position CountAI's solutions accordingly.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring smooth onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.

3. Applying Merchandising & Sourcing Insight to Sales

- Use first-hand knowledge of how fashion brands evaluate suppliers — quality standards, compliance audits, defect tolerance levels, and sourcing scorecards — to build a compelling case for AI-based quality inspection.
- Identify which manufacturers are under the most pressure to meet brand quality/compliance requirements, and prioritize them as high-potential prospects.

- Advise internal product and customer success teams on brand-specific quality expectations and seasonal production cycles to tailor pitches and onboarding.
- Bridge the gap between a factory's sourcing/merchandising-side requirements (what brands demand) and CountAI's technical capabilities (what the AI system delivers).

4. Proposal Development & Negotiation

- Prepare and present business proposals, ROI cases, and pricing structures tailored to textile/apparel manufacturing clients.
- Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring favorable terms while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Coordinate with internal engineering/product and customer success teams to scope deployments (site survey, hardware requirements, integration needs) that match client production setups.
- Close deals and ensure smooth handover to the deployment/project coordination team for execution.

5. Market Expansion & Networking

- Represent CountAI at textile industry events, trade shows, and fashion/textile exhibitions to build visibility and generate leads.
- Develop partnerships with sourcing agencies, buying houses, textile industry bodies, and brand quality/compliance teams to expand market reach and credibility.
- Identify potential geographic expansion opportunities (new textile manufacturing clusters, international markets) as CountAI scales.
- Build CountAI's brand presence within both the textile manufacturing community and the fashion brand/sourcing ecosystem.

6. Reporting & Forecasting

- Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecast data in CRM systems, including deployment stage tracking (lead, demo, pilot, contract, installation).
- Prepare regular business development reports — lead status, conversion rates, pilot-to-contract ratios, and revenue forecasts — for management review.
- Provide market feedback (client objections, feature requests, competitor activity) to support product development and strategic planning.

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and collateral for textile manufacturers and fashion brand stakeholders.

- Coordinate with the project/deployment coordination team to ensure client commitments (installation timelines, go-live) are met post-sale.
- Liaise with leadership/MD on key account strategy, high-value deals, and market expansion plans.
- Share client and market insights with the product/engineering team to influence roadmap priorities.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong understanding of the fashion/apparel and textile manufacturing industry — merchandising cycles, sourcing practices, and brand-side quality/compliance requirements.
- Established network and relationships with large fashion brands, buying houses, sourcing agencies, or textile manufacturers (highly preferred).
- Ability to translate brand/sourcing-side quality expectations into a business case for AI-driven quality inspection technology.
- Proven track record in business development, sales, or key account management, ideally in a B2B tech/SaaS or industrial technology environment.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Comfort engaging both traditional manufacturing stakeholders and technical/product teams.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, factory visits, and industry events.

Qualifications & Experience

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Textile/Fashion Technology, or related field (MBA from IIM, ISB are preferred)
- Experience: 6–10 years in business development, sales, merchandising, or sourcing roles — with prior exposure to or direct association with large fashion brands, buying houses, or textile/apparel manufacturers strongly preferred.
- Industry Background: Experience in textile/apparel manufacturing, fashion sourcing, or selling technology/automation solutions into manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- New client acquisition (number and value of new manufacturing accounts)
- Revenue growth against targets
- Pilot-to-paid conversion rate
- Sales pipeline velocity and deployment turnaround
- Client retention and satisfaction (existing key accounts)
- Number of qualified leads generated through network/industry events

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month

Benefits:

- Cell phone reimbursement
- Commuter assistance
- Flexible schedule
- Food provided
- Paid sick time
- Paid time off
