Operations & Supply Chain ManagerRole Overview
We are looking for an experienced Operations & Supply Chain professional with approximately 12–15 years of relevant experience to take ownership of our end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role covering logistics, warehousing, inventory planning, material planning, import/export and assembly operations. The role will be responsible for strengthening systems and processes, improving operational efficiency, developing the team and supporting the company's growth.
The position offers an opportunity for a strong operations professional to take on broader responsibility, build scalable processes and make a visible impact on a growing organization.
We are looking for someone who combines sound operational knowledge with a practical, problem-solving approach and strong people-management skills. The ability to work independently, collaborate across functions and take ownership of delivering results will be key for success in this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain, Logistics & Warehousing
- Plan and manage the end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations covering inbound, outbound, import, export and warehousing.
- Manage decentralized warehouse operations and effectively coordinate with 3PL service providers.
- Optimize logistics and warehouse processes to improve service levels, productivity, inventory availability and operating efficiency.
- Manage and develop the logistics team, building a professional, accountable and high-performing organization.
Import, Export & Transportation
- Streamline shipping processes covering import, domestic and export supply.
- Manage import/export documentation and coordinate customs clearance activities and external service providers.
- Manage transportation operations and transport service providers, including service-level agreements.
- Negotiate with logistics and transportation partners to achieve competitive rates while maintaining required service levels.
Dealer & Distribution Operations
- Manage logistics operations supporting a sales- and dealer-oriented business model, including distribution through dealers and sub-dealers.
- Establish effective communication and information flow with regional teams, dealers and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure logistics capabilities and service levels remain aligned with business and customer requirements.
Inventory & Material Planning
- Drive inventory management and material planning to meet agreed targets for availability, inventory days and ageing.
- Ensure effective physical control of inventory and establish robust processes for periodic stock counts and reconciliation.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns, reduce ageing and optimize working capital while maintaining appropriate product availability.
Warehouse & Assembly Operations
- Set up and continuously improve warehouse management systems and processes, ensuring optimum utilization of space, resources and manpower.
- Lead and implement machine assembly/assembly operations in line with MII requirements.
- Ensure effective management of assembly operations and coordinate with relevant vendors and service providers.
ERP & Process Improvement
- Work effectively with ERP systems, with SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
- Participate in ERP implementation, process improvement and digitalization initiatives.
- Establish effective reporting and monitoring systems and develop appropriate KPIs to track logistics and supply chain performance.
- Identify process bottlenecks, conduct root-cause analysis and implement practical solutions for continuous improvement.
- Benchmark Group and industry best practices and recommend improvements to processes and systems.
CSRD & Compliance
- Act as the key point of contact for CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) compliance and reporting activities.
- Represent the organization at the global CSRD forum and coordinate with the global sustainability team.
- Coordinate with cross-functional internal teams for CSRD data collection and validation and ensure timely quarterly reporting to the Global Central CSRD team.
- Ensure appropriate administration and compliance relating to GST, HSN codes, taxation and other commercial matters associated with logistics.
Cost Optimization
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce supply chain and logistics costs while maintaining service and operational requirements.
- Develop cost-effective operating processes in line with local and Group requirements.
- Monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements.
Health, Safety & Facilities
- Take responsibility for Health & Safety within the Warehouse and Logistics function.
- Implement Company Health & Safety policies and ensure warehouse and logistics practices are regularly reviewed for compliance and best practice.
- Maintain a safe and well-organized working environment across warehouse and logistics operations.
- Oversee the upkeep of facilities, regional offices and company assets through appropriate service providers.
- Lead and implement facility expansion and improvement projects as required by the business.
People Leadership
- Work closely with HR to recruit, develop, coach and train the logistics team.
- Build a professional organization with clear responsibilities, accountability and performance expectations.
- Develop team capability through coaching, training and continuous feedback.
- Foster strong interpersonal relationships within the team and across other functions to ensure smooth business operations.
Skills - Technical & Functional CompetenciesEssential
- Approximately 12–15 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing, material planning and/or operations.
- Strong hands-on experience in inbound, outbound and warehouse operations.
- Good understanding of import/export processes, documentation and customs clearance.
- Experience managing 3PL providers, transporters and logistics service providers.
- Solid experience in inventory planning and inventory optimization.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations in a professional, preferably sales-oriented workplace.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and process-improvement capabilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
Advantageous
- Experience in a dealer/sub-dealer distribution environment.
- Exposure to assembly or machine-assembly operations.
- Experience in ERP implementation or process transformation.
- Exposure to CSRD or sustainability reporting.
