Job Summary

Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences & Research (KFMSR) is looking for a qualified and academically oriented Senior Resident – Biochemistry to support undergraduate medical education, practical teaching, laboratory activities, academic assessments, and departmental responsibilities.

The candidate will work under the guidance of the Head of the Department and senior faculty members.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Conduct Biochemistry lectures, tutorials, practicals, demonstrations, and small-group teaching for MBBS students as assigned.
- Assist in teaching Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Biochemistry.
- Supervise students during Biochemistry laboratory practical sessions.
- Demonstrate biochemical tests, laboratory procedures, and interpretation of results.
- Assist faculty in preparing teaching materials, practical schedules, lesson plans, and academic resources.
- Participate in internal assessments, practical examinations, question paper preparation, evaluation, and university examination activities as assigned.
- Maintain student attendance, academic records, practical records, and departmental documentation.
- Participate in seminars, journal clubs, case discussions, workshops, conferences, and academic activities.
- Assist in departmental research projects, publications, presentations, and data collection.
- Support laboratory quality, safety,



documentation, and departmental academic activities.
- Mentor and guide undergraduate students as assigned.
- Participate in departmental meetings and institutional academic activities.
- Support NMC/regulatory, accreditation, and quality-compliance documentation as required.
- Perform other academic and departmental duties assigned by the HOD / Dean.

Educational Qualification

- MBBS with MD/DNB in Biochemistry, as applicable to the post and prevailing medical-college regulations.
- Candidates must meet the applicable NMC eligibility requirements for the position.
- Teaching/medical-college experience will be considered as per applicable requirements.

- Good knowledge of Medical and Clinical Biochemistry.
- Strong practical and laboratory teaching skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to teach undergraduate medical students.
- Research and academic interest.
- Good documentation and teamwork skills.
