Behavioural Counsellor

Location: Indore, Madhya Pradesh

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Behavioural Counsellor to support the emotional, behavioural, social and overall well-being of students. The counsellor will work closely with students, parents, teachers and the school leadership team to identify concerns, provide appropriate counselling support and promote a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students as required.
- Identify and address students' emotional, behavioural, social and academic concerns.
- Conduct age-appropriate behavioural and well-being interventions.
- Support students in managing stress, anxiety, peer relationships, emotional challenges and adjustment issues.
- Observe and identify behavioural concerns and maintain appropriate records of interventions.
- Coordinate with teachers and parents regarding students' behavioural and emotional concerns, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Conduct awareness sessions on topics such as emotional well-being, positive behaviour, peer relationships, study skills, stress management and life skills.
- Support students who require additional emotional or behavioural assistance.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the school leadership team to develop appropriate support strategies.
- Maintain proper counselling records, reports and documentation.
- Refer students to external mental health professionals/specialists wherever required, in consultation with the school management/parents.
- Support the school's child protection,



student well-being and safeguarding initiatives.
- Assist in creating a secure, respectful and emotionally supportive school setting.
- Conduct parent counselling/meetings whenever required.
- Participate in school programmes, workshops and student development initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology or a relevant field – Mandatory.
- Relevant professional qualification/certification in counselling will be an advantage.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant counselling experience, preferably in a school setting.
- Experience in handling children and adolescents is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent behaviour and emotional development.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observation and active listening skills.
- Empathetic, patient and approachable personality.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers and school leadership.
- Good command of English and Hindi.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding and school counselling practices will be an advantage.

Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience as a School Counsellor, Behavioural Counsellor, Student Counsellor or Psychologist in a reputed school/educational institution are encouraged to apply.

Note: Candidates must possess the required educational qualification and relevant experience to be considered for the position.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
