Job Profile: Plant Technician / Floor Assistant (Machining Support, Loading/Unloading & Packing)
Company: Antila World Systems Private Limited
Location: Plot No. E-38, Additional Patalganga MIDC, Karade Budruk, Tal. Panvel, Dist. Raigad, Maharashtra – 410207 (On-site)
Department: Manufacturing & Shop Floor Operations
Reporting To: Senior CNC/VMC Operator / Production Manager
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: ₹16,000.00 – ₹22,000.00 per month (based on ITI trade credentials and practical ability)
Objective & Growth Opportunity
To serve as a reliable, multi-skilled technical resource on the shop floor, driving smooth daily logistics (unloading raw materials, loading machine beds, staging tools), carrying out post-machining finishing, executing protective packaging for dispatch, and supporting senior machinists and fabricators in producing Class-certified marine valves, couplings, closures, and engineering components.
- Freshers Are Welcome to Join: Motivated ITI and Diploma freshers are strongly encouraged to apply. If you bring a dedicated work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn industrial manufacturing hands-on, you will receive systematic on-the-job training across all machinery.
- Rise Within the Organisation: We believe in internal growth. Dedicated assistants who master drawing interpretation, machine setups, and quality checks will have a direct pathway to advance into Junior CNC/VMC Operator, Quality Inspector, or Maintenance Specialist roles.
Detailed Scope of Work
1. Loading, Unloading & Material Movement
- Inward Unloading: Safely unload arriving delivery vehicles carrying raw materials—such as stainless steel bar stock, pipes, forgings, investment castings, and structural plates—verifying preliminary physical bundle counts against delivery challans before moving them to the inward staging area.
- Machine Bed Loading: Assist in loading and positioning heavy raw billets, fixtures, and semi-finished parts into CNC lathes and VMC clamping setups using pallet trucks, hoist slings,
and manual lifting aids.
- Dispatch Staging & Loading: Safely load outbound delivery trucks and tempos with finished, crated products, verifying that all wooden boxes and pallets are secured and strapped to eliminate transit movement.
2. Preservation, Packing & Dispatch Readiness
- Surface Preservation: Clean, degrease, and apply protective anti-rust/preservative oil or grease coats to machined stainless and alloy steel surfaces prior to packing.
- Component Protection: Fit end caps and thread protectors on all external threads, coupling faces, and valve flange openings to prevent impact damage.
- Crating & Packing: Wrap parts thoroughly in protective bubble sheet and stretch film; cushion, pack, and nail/strap goods securely into wooden crates or corrugated boxes; mark each crate with packing lists, job numbers, and orientation labels.
3. CNC, VMC & Machine Support
- Stage verified raw billets, tooling, and jaws at machine cells ahead of schedule to minimize setup delays and idle spindle time.
- Remove chips and transparent swarf from turning chucks and milling beds after each cutting cycle.
- Immediately deburr, edge-break, and wipe down freshly machined components, tagging each part with job-card route numbers to preserve lot traceability.
4. Secondary Machining & Assembly Assistance
- Operate secondary shop equipment including pedestal grinders, buffing stations, bench drills, and workshop presses for basic forming, broaching, or deburring tasks.
- Clean sealing grooves and seat faces, degrease components, and assist assembly fitters with assembling Camlock couplings, vent heads, and valve discs.
- Assist the QC team in mounting and clamping valve bodies onto hydrostatic and pneumatic test benches.
5. TPM, Housekeeping & 5S Discipline
- Perform pre-shift Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks: inspect and top up machine coolant and slideway oil levels, verify pneumatic airline pressure, and empty chip bins.
- Systematically collect and segregate metal chips and scrap into designated bins by grade (SS316, SS304, bronze, mild steel) to avoid scrap contamination.
- Maintain clean, hazard-free shop-floor gangways and follow standard plant PPE and safety procedures.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Education: ITI in Machinist, Turner, Fitter, Welder, or allied technical trades; or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 0 to 3 years in a machine shop, valve manufacturing unit, or fabrication facility. Energetic freshers with a strong technical mindset and readiness to learn will be trained.
- Core Competencies: Basic blueprint literacy, safe operation of angle grinders, bench drills, and hand tools; willingness to learn precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers).
- Physical Fitness: Physically active, safety-conscious, and capable of safely loading, unloading, and shifting materials using standard shop-floor handling equipment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Loading & Material Readiness: Zero machine spindle downtime caused by delayed billet loading or staging bottlenecks.
- Packing Quality: Zero customer complaints or transit rejections resulting from loose packing, surface scratching, missing protective end caps, or moisture corrosion.
- Deburring & Cleaning Standard: 100% of parts deburred and cleaned before transferring to the next machining cell or QC bay.
- Safety & TPM Adherence: Full compliance with daily machine oil/coolant checks and achieving 95% rating in plant 5S audits.
