About the Role
CDCE Automation & Robotics is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team and work on Special Purpose Machines (SPM), industrial automation, and robotic projects. The candidate will be involved in mechanical design, component selection, machine assembly, testing, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems for SPM and automation machines.
- Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models of machine components and assemblies.
- Select suitable mechanical components based on project requirements.
- Prepare BOMs and support material selection.
- Work on machine structures, mechanisms, fixtures, conveyors, and other mechanical assemblies.
- Coordinate with electrical and automation teams for machine integration.
- Support machine assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues during machine trials.
- Coordinate with fabrication, machining, and other vendors when required.
- Make design modifications based on testing and project requirements.
- Maintain mechanical drawings, BOMs, and project documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 0–4 years of experience in mechanical design, SPM, automation, or machine building.
- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks is preferred.
- Good knowledge of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn and work on industrial automation projects.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge or experience in SPM and industrial automation machine design.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of bearings, shafts, gears, couplings, linear guides, cylinders, actuators, etc.
- Understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of automation and robotic systems is preferred.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning when required.
