Job Description: Architect

Location: Nacharam, Secunderabad, Telangana
Reports To: Executive Director / Chairman / Management Board
Delhi Public School, Nacharam is seeking an experienced School Architect to lead architectural design, structural expansion, and spatial optimization across our K-12 campus. The role focuses on designing state-of-the-art educational infrastructure tailored to CBSE curriculum requirements, NEP 2020 pedagogical standards, and modern eco-friendly campus guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architectural Design & Pedagogical Integration
- Design learning environments including flexible classrooms, Composite Science & Robotics Labs, Math Labs, Visual Arts Studios, and Sports Arenas tailored to CBSE norms.
- Incorporate Building as a Learning Aid (BaLA) principles across primary and secondary wings.
- Plan multi-functional spaces such as auditoriums, open-air theatres, digitally equipped libraries, and modern dining halls.
2. Master Planning & Renovations
- Formulate campus master plans for expansion, structural retrofitting, and space reallocation.
- Optimize campus traffic flow, drop-off/pick-up zones, and pedestrian pathways to ensure maximum safety.
- Integrate universal accessibility standards (ramps, elevators, tactile paths) across all academic and admin blocks.
3. Regulatory Compliance & CBSE Norms
- Ensure strict adherence to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws regarding spatial dimensions,
classroom square footage, laboratory standards, and fire safety protocols.
- Coordinate local municipal approvals (GHMC/HMDA) including NBC (National Building Code) safety norms, structural stability certificates, and occupancy permits.
4. Sustainable & Green Campus Initiatives
- Implement eco-conscious campus designs: passive cooling, rainwater harvesting, solar integration, and natural ventilation systems.
- Select durable, low-maintenance, safe, and non-toxic construction materials suitable for high-density educational environments.
5. Project Management & Vendor Coordination
- Collaborate with structural engineers, MEP consultants, interior designers, and landscape architects.
- Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), interior layouts, and 3D architectural renders.
- Oversee site construction to ensure design fidelity, timeline compliance, and quality control.
Education: Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) required; M.Arch or Urban Planning preferred.
Registration: Valid registration with the Council of Architecture (COA), India.
Experience: 7–12 years of core architectural experience, with at least 3+ years dedicated to k-12 institutional design/schools.
Technical Skills: AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), SketchUp, Rhino, Photoshop, 3ds Max/V-Ray, and Lumion.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with NBC guidelines, GHMC/HMDA building rules, and CBSE affiliation infrastructure criteria.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
