What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Manager, Central Reconciliations provides strategic and operational leadership for a critical function supporting the integrity, control, and scalability of reconciliation activities across the enterprise. The role leads the continued evolution of the Central Reconciliations team in CIBC India, ensuring operational readiness to support business growth, regulatory expectations, and modernization priorities. This position oversees automated and manual reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and suspense account management while driving standardization, control enhancement, process optimization, and service excellence. The role also acts as a subject matter expert for reconciliation operations and the TLM application.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Lead the day-to-day operations and ongoing evolution of the Central Reconciliations function, including automated and manual reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and suspense account oversight.
- Establish and maintain a scalable operating model aligned to business growth and enterprise priorities, while delivering against service levels, operational metrics, productivity targets, and control standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual intervention, and improve operational efficiency through modernization, standardization, and process enhancement initiatives.
- Support the migration of critical and time-sensitive activities into the Central Reconciliations model with minimal disruption, partnering with Technology and Change teams to enhance tooling, exception management, reporting, and data feeds.
- Maintain a strong control environment by proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating operational risks, and partnering with Audit, Compliance, Risk, and Regulatory stakeholders to support reviews, remediation, and sustained compliance.
- Build strong partnerships across Capital Markets, Finance, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and other business stakeholders to support service delivery and business priorities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while managing capacity planning, resource allocation, succession planning, budget management, staffing strategy, and investment priorities aligned to the functions roadmap.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Capital Markets, Retail, Wealth Management, Finance, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and other Operations teams across CIBC
- Partners with business stakeholders, control functions, and technology teams to resolve operational issues, support service delivery,
and implement process improvements
- Liaises with internal and external stakeholders, as applicable, to address exceptions, support reconciliation activities, and meet business, audit, and regulatory requirements

- Leads a critical reconciliation function supporting multiple business lines, with accountability for service delivery, regulatory reporting, suspense account oversight, and control effectiveness
- Manages team capacity, operational performance, and stakeholder engagement across Operations, Finance, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Audit in a regulated environment

- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Capital Markets operations, reconciliations, or settlements, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Demonstrated experience leading reconciliation operations in a regulated environment
- Proven experience leading operational change, business transformation, or process migration initiatives
- Deep knowledge of reconciliation processes, including automated and manual reconciliations, exception management, suspense account oversight, and operational control frameworks
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets operations and related financial products; experience with Securities Lending, Equity Trading, OTC Derivatives, and Collateral Management is an asset
- Hands-on knowledge of reconciliation platforms such as TLM and familiarity with systems including DTC, CDS, Broadridge (ADP), FundSERV, GOW, and similar operational tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess data, identify trends, determine root causes, and drive effective decisions
- Ability to translate business needs into operational and technology requirements to support strategic and process improvements
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, planning, prioritization, and decision-making skills
- Strong risk awareness and commitment to compliance, governance, and control discipline
