This JD is for an Integration/API Developer, with a strong focus on App Connect and enterprise integration technologies.

Key Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of experience in:

- API development (REST/SOAP)

- IBM App Connect (designing, developing, and deploying integration flows)

- Strong experience in integration development using:

- IBM MQ (queues, queue managers, channels, producers/consumers, error/transaction handling)

- Apache Kafka (topics, partitions, producers/consumers, consumer groups, offset management)

- SFTP (file polling/transfers, encryption, retry/error handling)

- Familiarity with CP4I (Cloud Pak for Integration) stack — including App Connect Enterprise, API Connect, MQ, and Event Streams — is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise integrations using IBM App Connect and related technologies.
- Build and maintain REST/SOAP APIs with proper security, authentication, versioning, and lifecycle management.
- Implement robust integration flows involving IBM MQ, Kafka, and SFTP — including message transformations, error handling, and retry logic.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable integration solutions.
- Ensure integrations meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards within CP4I (Cloud Pak for Integration) environments.
- Contribute to documentation, CI/CD pipelines,



and troubleshooting of integration issues in production and non-production environments.

Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in API development and enterprise integration.
- Technical Skills:
- IBM App Connect (message flows, REST/SOAP APIs, connectors/nodes, exception/error handling, deployment)
- IBM MQ (queues, queue managers, channels, message producers/consumers, transaction & error handling)
- Apache Kafka (topics, partitions, producers/consumers, consumer groups, offset management)
- SFTP (file-based integrations, polling, security, encryption, error/retry handling)
- REST API design, security (OAuth2, JWT), request/response transformation, and versioning
- CP4I (App Connect Enterprise, API Connect, MQ, Event Streams, OpenShift/containerized deployments)

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications (preferred): IBM Certified Solution Developer – App Connect, or related middleware/cloud integration certifications.
- Soft Skills: Robust problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in agile/DevOps environments.
