Job Overview We are looking for a talentedApplication Development Engineerto join the RSM Defense Engineering team This role focuses primarily onsoftware development application development API integrations and security automation engineering The ideal candidate is adeveloperfirst professionalwith strong programming and software engineering fundamentals The candidate should be comfortable building scalable applications backend services integrations and automation solutions while working in a cybersecurity environment When application development priorities are lower the engineer will contribute toSOAR development workflow automation and security engineering initiatives Key Responsibilities Application Software Development Design develop maintain and enhance internal applications services utilities and engineering tools Develop productionquality applications usingPython JavaScript Go SQL and other relevant technologies Apply objectoriented programming modular design reusable components and software design patterns Develop scalable maintainable testable and extensible solutions Troubleshoot debug refactor and enhance existing applications and codebases Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices API Integration Development Design and develop integrations between security platforms internal applications and thirdparty services Develop and consumeREST APIs Webhooks SDKs and other programmatic interfaces Work withJSON XML and CSVfor data transformation and normalization Troubleshoot API failures authentication issues data transformation problems and system dependencies Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms such asAPI Keys OAuth Tokens and Service Accounts Security Automation SOAR Develop and maintain automation workflows supporting security operations and incident response Build custom integrations scripts functions and services to extend SOAR platform capabilities Work with security analysts and engineering teams to identify automation opportunities Contribute to SOAR development and security automation initiatives Continuously learn and develop knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and automation platforms Automation Engineering Tooling Develop automation tools usingPython Bash and PowerShell Build reusable libraries modules connectors and services Identify opportunities to replace manual processes with scalable automation solutions Troubleshoot and enhance existing automation tools and engineering services Cloud DevOps Deploy and support applications and integrations usingAWS Work with AWS services such as Lambda EC2 S3 IAM API Gateway Work with InfrastructureasCode frameworks such asAWS SAM or Terraform UseGitbased source control branching strategies pull requests and code reviews Participate inCI CD pipelines testing deployment and release management Required Skills Qualifications 5 years of experiencein application development backend development software engineering or system integrations Strong programming experience in at least one of the following Python JavaScript Go Strong understanding ofREST APIs Webhooks JSON and thirdparty integrations Experience with authentication methods such as OAuth API Keys Tokens and Service Accounts Strong understanding of ObjectOriented Programming Software Design Patterns Modular Development Reusable Components Experience withGit and version control systems Experience withUnit Testing and Integration Testing Knowledge ofBash and or PowerShell scripting Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills Understanding of secure software development practices Good communication and collaboration skills Preferred Skills Experience working in aCybersecurity or MSSP setting Experience integrating security technologies such as SIEM SOAR EDR XDR Identity platforms Vulnerability Management Threat Intelligence Case Management platforms Experience with SOAR platforms such asTorq or similar technologies Experience withAWS and Serverless Application Development Knowledge ofTerraform or AWS SAM Experience withCI CD and DevOps practices Familiarity withDocker and container technologies Understanding of Security Operations and Incident Response processes
