Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Automation & Development
Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using Python, leveraging modules for OS automation, API orchestration, and infrastructure services.
Automate provisioning, configuration, compliance checks, and lifecycle management across:
Networks (Cisco, PaloAlto, etc)
Linux/Windows servers
Virtualization platforms (Nutanix AHV, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
Storage systems
Infrastructure services and toolchains
Build reusable automation modules using YAML, JSON, XML, and templating engines like Jinja2.
Develop and consume RESTful APIs for interacting with infrastructure platforms, provisioning systems, and internal services.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Tooling
Develop and maintain automation artifacts using Ansible for configuration management and workflow orchestration.
Contribute to IaC workflows using Terraform, Ansible, or cloud-native provisioning tools.
Manage Git based version control practices, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
Integrate infrastructure automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps), including automated testing, linting, and deployment workflows.
Infrastructure Architecture & Security
Apply solid understanding of core infrastructure concepts including compute, virtualization, storage, OS configuration, and foundational networking.
Automate integration with security controls, secrets management systems, and compliance enforcement frameworks.
Support automation across hybrid environments-including on prem data centers and public cloud (AWS, Azure).
Implement secure communication, encryption,
and identity aware workflows within automation platforms.
Linux, Systems & DevOps
Administer Linux environments used for automation engines, CI/CD workers, and execution nodes.
Deploy and manage containerized automation services or similar technologies.
Follow DevOps best practices including CI pipelines, code reviews, documentation, and observability.
Contribute to monitoring and telemetry automation using frameworks like Prometheus or Elastic (preferred but not required).
Collaboration & Cross Functional Work
Work closely with compute, cloud, platform, security, and operations teams to design holistic automation solutions.
Translate complex infrastructure requirements into modular, scalable automation logic.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, architecture reviews, and roadmap discussions.
Innovation & Emerging Technologies
Explore emerging automation technologies, including policy-as-code, event-driven automation, and AIOps.
Recommend process improvements, reusable frameworks, or new tooling to elevate automation maturity.
Contribute to standards, templates, and best practices for automation across the enterprise.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
5-7+ years in infrastructure automation.
Strong proficiency in Python for automation, including experience working with APIs, structured data, and system automation libraries.
Hands on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories) or other configuration management tools.
Experience working with structured data formats (JSON, YAML, XML) and templating systems.
Solid understanding of core compute, OS fundamentals, virtualization concepts, and general infrastructure architecture.
Experience with Git, code reviews, and team-oriented development workflows.
Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Experience with Power platform, PowerBI, Power Automate, etc.
Strong Linux systems background.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience automating cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) using IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
Exposure to virtualization and containerization technologies (Nutanix, Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of Python testing frameworks (pytest).
Experience with monitoring/telemetry automation (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic).
Familiarity with AIOps concepts or event-driven automation platforms.
Experience working in highly regulated industries (financial services preferred).
Soft Skills
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills across infrastructure and automation domains.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across global, cross functional engineering teams.
Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high security enterprise environment.
