Cloud Security Lead Consultant / Architect

Role Summary
A Cloud Security Consultant/Architect who can both design secure cloud architectures and lead a team of security engineers/consultants. This role blends hands-on technical depth with people leadership - you'll drive security strategy for client engagements while mentoring and growing a team.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Consulting
Design and review secure cloud architectures across AWS, and Azure (multi-cloud exposure preferred)
Lead security assessments, cloud posture reviews for client environments
Define and implement cloud security frameworks - IAM, network segmentation, data protection, encryption, key management
Architect solutions for Zero Trust, CSPM, CWPP, CIEM, and SIEM/SOAR integrations
Guide clients on compliance and regulatory alignment (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA as applicable)
Own security automation initiatives

Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and upskill a team of cloud security engineers/consultants
Own resource planning, task allocation, and quality of delivery across engagements
Conduct technical reviews and ensure architecture/consulting deliverables meet quality bars
Act as the primary technical escalation point for the team and clients
Drive hiring, onboarding, and career development conversations for team members




Foster a culture of continuous learning - encourage certifications, knowledge-sharing sessions, and staying current with evolving threats

Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as a trusted advisor to client CISOs/security leadership
Translate technical risk into business-relevant language for leadership audiences
Manage engagement scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations independently

Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure); multi-cloud is a plus
Deep understanding of cloud-native security services (e.g., AWS Security Hub/GuardDuty, Azure Defender, GCP Security Command Center)
Experience with IAM design, network security, container/Kubernetes security, and DevSecOps practices
Proven track record of leading a team (formal or informal) - reviewing work, unblocking engineers, owning outcomes
Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills
Experience with security tooling: SIEM, CSPM/CWPP platforms such as Wiz, vulnerability management tools

Preferred Certifications
CCSP, CISSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate,
