Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead our Supply Chain Management function. This role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency and cost control across our supply chain.

Overall Purpose

To ensure uninterrupted material availability, optimum inventory, solid supplier performance, and timely customer delivery while controlling overall supply-chain costs and improving operational efficiency.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Material & Procurement Planning

- Plan raw materials, bought-out components, consumables, packaging, and other materials based on production and customer requirements.
- Convert demand and projections into procurement requirements, ensuring timely PO placement and follow-up.
- Coordinate with PPC, Production, Sales, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted material availability.

- Purchase & Supplier Management

- Manage supplier performance covering cost, quality, delivery, capacity, lead time, and responsiveness.
- Drive vendor development, alternate-source development, and supplier capacity enhancement.
- Ensure committed quantities and delivery schedules are achieved.
- Identify and mitigate single-source, long-lead-time, and supply-capacity risks.

- PPC & Material Availability

- Coordinate production planning with material availability and supplier capacity.
- Monitor material shortages, production requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Proactively resolve supply constraints to avoid production interruptions.

- Stores & Inventory Management

- Control raw material, work-in-progress, finished goods, consumable, and packaging inventory at optimum levels.
- Ensure proper receipt,



identification, storage, preservation, FIFO/FEFO, traceability, and material issue.
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through physical verification and ERP reconciliation.
- Drive reduction of excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.

- Dispatch & Logistics

- Plan and control inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, and freight costs.
- Ensure accurate and on-time dispatch as per customer schedules and documentation requirements.
- Monitor customer delivery performance and proactively address potential delays.

- ERP & SCM Compliance

- Ensure timely and accurate ERP transactions, including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), material issue, stock transfer, and dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with internal SCM procedures, ISO/IATF requirements, and applicable documentation.

- Cost & Working Capital Optimization

- Drive reduction in purchase cost, freight, logistics, and inventory carrying cost.
- Improve inventory turns and working-capital efficiency without affecting production or customer delivery.

- Team & Continuous Improvement

- Lead and develop the SCM team across Purchase, PPC, Stores, and Dispatch.
- Drive cost reduction, lead-time reduction, inventory optimization, logistics improvement, and SCM Kaizens.
- Monitor key SCM KPIs and implement corrective actions for performance gaps.

Qualification

BE/B.Tech / MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, Materials Management, or equivalent.
