nABOUT THE ROLE
nWe are looking for experienced US Mortgage Underwriters to join our L2 underwriting team in Kochi.
nThe role involves evaluating residential mortgage loan applications, assessing borrower eligibility and credit risk, reviewing income and assets, validating collateral, and ensuring compliance with agency, investor, and regulatory guidelines.
nYou will work across Conventional, Non-QM, DSCR and alternative-documentation mortgage products in a quick-paced, high-volume environment.
nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Underwrite Conventional, Non-QM, DSCR, Bank Statement and P&L-based; mortgage loans.n
- Analyze borrower income, assets, credit,



employment and collateral to determine eligibility and risk.n
- Evaluate alternative-income documentation, including Bank Statements, Asset Depletion, 1099, ITIN and P&L-only; programs.n
- Apply Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Non-QM, DSCR and investor-specific underwriting guidelines.n
- Review loan documentation and issue appropriate Approvals, Conditions, Suspensions or Denials.n
- Review and clear underwriting conditions and resubmitted documentation.n
- Collaborate closely with Loan Officers, Processors, Brokers and internal teams to ensure timely loan decisions.n
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and support quality control, compliance and audit requirements.n
- Stay updated on changes in mortgage products, investor requirements and underwriting guidelines.n
