Job Duties

Support the Department’s public safety mission by supervising and monitoring probationers in accordance with DOC standards. The role enhances community safety through home contacts, investigative support, and coordination with community resources. It ensures accurate documentation, effective communication, and timely reporting. Surveillance Officers play a key role in probationer accountability and successful reintegration.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of surveillance and investigative techniques. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Automated Databases. Demonstrated experience to collect pertinent information from a variety of sources, maintain logs, and document discussions with inmates,



or probationers in a human service setting. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Working knowledge of an electronic, voice monitoring system &/or anytrax.

Additional Considerations

Experience working with case management computer applications. Demonstrated experience making referrals to community resources. The selected candidate must be eligible and successfully obtain required VCIN certification.
