Job Title: AS400 Developer
Software Developer – AS400
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, implement changes to existing AS400 applications
- Participate in the evaluation, build, testing, and implementation of new products and the modification of existing products
- Define and propose solutions for enhancements and system changes
- Collaborate with Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
- Estimate development tasks, define work efforts and timelines, provide project statuses
- Work with testers and business teams to triage defects and ensure changes are migrated into production correctly
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities (sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily sprint meetings)
- Provide on-going production support for AS400 systems and applications
- Perform tasks regarding change control, incident management, and audit
- Support SOX and IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems are kept in compliance




- Create and update the appropriate system documentation

Qualifications and Skills
- 8+ years of demonstrated skills for the development and maintenance support of complex applications (package and custom solutions)
- Experience with AS400 iSeries, RPG (including ILE and free form), ACOM, and ShowCase Query
- System administration, including AS400 access management, security, and printers
- Management of AS400 scheduled and interactive jobs
- Experience with SQL preferred
- Robust team building and consensus building skills
- In-depth development methodology and system implementation experience
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively with little or no supervision
- Effective communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment, and with all levels of the organization

- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science / In
